Was so excited for this! Viki takes awhile for the subs so I had to wait another day.

PS. Viki's subs look different I think they did something. I didn't realize how small they are until I was editing so for next time, I will increase the size of the subs.

girls planet also aired at the wrong time. street woman fighter was mnet's #1 show and it was airing at the same time. that show was hella popular especially during the 'hey mama' challenge going viral. but tbf, I think mnet also strategically placed boys planet in a timeframe where it has little to no competition.

The guy you appreciated when he started mirotic is Ichan (or Echan) a former iland contestant under the name Jaebom (Sunoo bestie) and he is a very good singer and songwriter. Unfortunately he has 0 screentime in the 2 first episode. Mnet obviously already decide the first one they want to leave the show since he is not the only one with almost 0 apparence

This is so random but wow the guide for “Here I Am” was no doubt Ha Sungwoon. I recognized his voice right away 😂 He’s really close with one of the vocal coaches and 1M Youngjoon too so it’s even more likely lol

If anyone ever needed any more proof that 4th Gen is absolutely obsessed with dancing so much so that other aspects of being an idol begin to lack, look no further than this episode of BP. Obviously I respect all the trainees and God knows that all of them are so infinitely stronger than I am, but it became clear to me that so many entertainment companies are focusing a bit *too* heavily on dancing to the extent that their trainees can barely keep a note 😭

OMG! I didn't recognize Jaebom at all! His singing is so good! I hope he gets more screen time in future episodes. I also haven't seen Yedam from Loud at all although I know he's there. It is a bit frustrating.

The guy you liked in the later half is Lee Seunghwan ! He actually debuted before in 1THE9, he's definitely one of my picks too. Aside from having godly visuals, he's really good at singing and got such a funny and nice personality !

Totally agree with you when you said the signal song challenge is kinda unfair for people with lower registers or for those who focus on rapping. I wish low vocals and deeper tones were more appreciated in kpop and not everything were about the high notes… don’t get me wrong I lovee hearing them but it’s nice to switch it up sometimes ya know :D

If you need to pick more trainees to fill up 9 spots for voting, you should vote for up10tion lee dongyeol and lee hwanhee lol. they're pretty talented. and they're in a similar situation as hui's. i just know mnet wont give them anyyyyyyy screen time at all. so support them if you need to fill up ur list!! <3 2 of TO1 members are also here and haven't been getting screen time either. you know them from road to kingdom!

ultimately, i think it's pretty clear from the first 2 episodes who would make it to top 20 and such. there are soooo many trainees who aren't getting screen time at all though. and so half of my 9 spots are for trainees i want to stay a little longer lol

As much as Im hooked on this program and I root for all the guys, it obviously has typical mnet issues. I get harsh criticisms sometimes are just necessary but Im not sure why it seems like they need to have a group of all-rounders (or not even that, just guys who do dancing and singing best). Like its all great to have some like that but let some others specialize - Yujin as prime example of a great dancer/performer prodigy, but my guy is 16, his voice probably breaks every 1-2 business days (hi puberty) and he trained short time. Train him in his strengths, let him rap or do very short snippets of songs to do live. Making yet another 9-member group, they will be getting like 15seconds each in the songs, why are you presenting them as failures for having a harder time with a whole-length song that they learned in literally few days. It all makes me so mad. And ofc lets not forget that they have a Rap Master for what exactly. I hope in future missions some of them will be shining rap stars! I have my core 7 picks and 2 are susceptible to change, 4-5(G-K) ratio would be ideal in my book, but Im afraid 3-6 will be pushed for. I really need Keita (and Kim Taerae maybe too) in top 9 tho, judging for last published votes.

totally agreee! like i mentioned they should’ve allowed a section for rappers to add if they wanted to. i think when we start the idol song cover round (i’m sure there’ll be one like in produce), we will start to see rappers shine more. really hoping yujin is able to redeem himself! i need him in the top 9 :( keita isn’t in my top 9 yet but i wouldn’t mind if he makes it ☺️ dude is talented!

from produce tho, we did see more guys shine as the show went on depending on the challenge, and some even made it to the finale. i believe that’ll happen here too. hopefully anyway!

If I am being completely honest I think that Mnet is doing better than usual. We have the normal issues of screentime(what else would we expect from them lol), but the way they are editing the boys so far has been better than their previous shows. In my opinion at this stage of all the produce shows and girl's planet we already had a heafty amount of evil editing. It seems that they are going with a more wholesome and funny approach in comparision to the other shows(which may be the reason why the show is going so viral). I am happy that they haven't done their signature evil editing(yet) and I hope they continue this way of editing the contestants.

So far my top 9 have been changing but I'm thinking, Hui, Han Yujin, Seok Matthew, Sung Hanbin, Zhang Hao, Kim Gyu Vin, Yoo Seungeon, Kim Jiwoong, and Keita. But we'll see how the rest of the episodes go!

I believe also He trained with some of the JustB members during their Pre-debut as Fave Boys/Play M boys. I was looking forward to their debut before since they are all "all-rounders" ,not until Seunghwan and Jinsung left.

that does happen, but it's very rare. if you look at x1 lineup or even wanna one, there's only very few members who weren't highlighted in the first round of evaluation. for x1, seungyoun was the only one who didn't get screen time at all at the beginning. hangyul got a bit of screen time, but that's because dohyun was more highlighted among the mbk boys. let's hope i'm wrong for boys planet!

Do you know Jay is part Filipino? And Matthew is from Vancouver actually. I'm team Kim Ji Woong because the aplomb with which he owned the fact he was a star of BL movies (plus the sexiness) is very attractive. It might be queerbaiting as you said, but this ep had boys falling over him left and right and him being totally cool with it. Now for the show, I disliked some evil editing (well favoritism in that case) when Takuto fell flat on his butt after his backflip (you can see it in his full perf) for ex. Now what I need to see is some rappers, the band will ned some and too few were shown to have a clear opinion. I do hope they have a rapping class for them and not let them fail if they cannot sing. Not everyone is a Han or a Leedo. Where would Namjoon be if he had been asked to sing high?

2023-04-25 07:58:10 I also saw on twitter the people laughing and being terrible with the trainees. This type of person get me mad honestly because you don't know what's behind the curtain? I honestly can't take in account only based on the auditions alone, that's why when it's come to first voting, I'm voting for the people I already know. The example of you can't take in account the audition alone : SHINE audition. I got so mad yesterday when I learned about the fact that the SHINE performance had 6 members at first, to actually end with 3 trainees who only had 1 hour to practice and change everything before going on stage (only 1 member being fluent enough in Korean). Meanwhile the others who sould have performed with them, didn't get anything, I don't know why they couldn't perform, they ended up with 0 stars. To me, it's unfair and i'm annoying at MNET for not warning the audience. I watched their practice and the one doing the rap part of Yuto, HYO caught my eye, i get to know he was a Pentagon fanboy and it's suck he didn't get the chance to perform SHINE. Since you watch the full performance, I also recommend you to match their practices (if you didn't already), you can see that some of them are way better in it, guess they are less nervous, it's help. I love watching your reaction and the fact you did pay attention to people that weren't show by MNET in the audition, I'm so glad because not everyone do it and some good contestants end up at the bottom of the ranking because of this. Like for Echan, for me, they did him really dirty. I think he was one of the best in Mirotic performance honestly, they should have show him more. I love Jiwoong, I followed him since INX, he is also one of my pick but I wish MNET didn't center everyting on him. Seunghwan was in the center and it's a shame they didn't highlight him a bit even if he missed the highnote (nailed it in the practice). I'm sooo glad i'm not the only one who didn't like the low part, it felt so weird i'm sorry and I really didn't get how he could have got more than the others with just this. The editing for the last auditions were terrible, I feel like MNET wanted to go fast on this. The performance of Keita group without editing was way better, it was one of the worse editing, I had a hard time with it. I'm so happy you did pay attention to the audition put in the background when they were talking about the idols who joined. The vocal part you liked was from Dongyeol and Hwanhee performance (UP10TION). I wish MNET put their performance because they did really well and Hwanhee vocal, always a pleasure to heard. (A lot compare him to Baekhyun because their voices feel similar). Hwanhee is one of my top pick, I hope people will pay more attention to him if they want vocal. Also you were talking about TO1, both Woonggi and Sungmin who are participing here aren't part of TO1 anymore. At some point, the company released a statment about Chihoon, Woonggi, Minsu, and Jerome (Sungmin stage name at that time) leaving the group and for TO1 they were discussing about the "team identity and direction" and they replaced them by some others people. Very fishy honestly, it's more like those members were kick out. (It wasn't the best decision because some of them were literally the most famous among the fans but also non-fans especially Woonggi, he is the one in the dorm being loud and also still dancing when the others are going to sleep, he is a ball of sunshine and so entertaining, also a girlsgroup stan all the way) So to finish on the auditions part, I wish they showed more performance from the foreigners group, they weren't perfect but some were okay. I felt like they compiled most of them for the segment about how when it's come to singing, it's weak (EP1) but when you watch the whole performance it isn't that terrible, they just put the bad part of it and it kind of bothered me. I would have liked for some them to put : VIEW performance, CROWN, MANIAC. Those performance had some weak vocal at some point but they were okay. Maybe it's just my feeling but on this one, I felt like MNET favored the K-GROUP (But reading twitter, I wasn't the only one feeling this way). Also I didn't agree with the judgement for Daeul and his partner audition, I felt like they should have got 1 maybe (?) not 2 For the Signal Song, I don't have much to say but honestly I wish they would have give Mingyu at least 1 star if Takuto got it? I really felt bad for Doha, you can see he tried his best and I hope he continue like that because nothing is over. Sohye in PRODUCE season 1 started F, it wasn't great but with all her hardwork she ended up in the lineup so nothing is impossible if you don't give up. (Hanbyul word were a little harsh for my liking, I really like him and I can get why he is frustrated but still :/). So he have a lot of performances and covers already, it's sad to see him so low, I hope he will shine next round. I saw some preview about the next round, what bother me in the show, it's really only the G-group VS K-group format. I wished for the next round, they had them mixed and not foreigners against korean again. For the Signal Song, I didn't mind but here It feel so dumb to me, if you want foreigners in the final group at the end but them already with Korean members. At some point, the company released a statment about Chihoon, Woonggi, Minsu, and Jerome (Sungmin stage name at that time) leaving the group and for TO1 they were discussing about the "team identity and direction" and they replaced them by some others people. Very fishy honestly, it's more like those members were kick out. (It wasn't the best decision because some of them were literally the most famous among the fans but also non-fans especially Woonggi, he is the one in the dorm being loud and also still dancing when the others are going to sleep, he is a ball of sunshine and so entertaining, also a girlsgroup stan all the way) So to finish on the auditions part, I wish they showed more performance from the foreigners group, they weren't perfect but some were okay. I felt like they compiled most of them for the segment about how when it's come to singing, it's weak (EP1) but when you watch the whole performance it isn't that terrible, they just put the bad part of it and it kind of bothered me. I would have liked for some them to put : VIEW performance, CROWN, MANIAC. Those performance had some weak vocal at some point but they were okay. Maybe it's just my feeling but on this one, I felt like MNET favored the K-GROUP (But reading twitter, I wasn't the only one feeling this way). Also I didn't agree with the judgement for Daeul and his partner audition, I felt like they should have got 1 maybe (?) not 2 For the Signal Song, I don't have much to say but honestly I wish they would have give Mingyu at least 1 star if Takuto got it? I really felt bad for Doha, you can see he tried his best and I hope he continue like that because nothing is over. Sohye in PRODUCE season 1 started F, it wasn't great but with all her hardwork she ended up in the lineup so nothing is impossible if you don't give up. (Hanbyul word were a little harsh for my liking, I really like him and I can get why he is frustrated but still :/). I'm glad you talked about how high the song is and sometime how unfair it can be especially for people with low register and rappers, I wish they would think about that more because not everyone get the chance to shine because of this factor. I'm not sure if they will show more of this next episode but I really want to see more G-group. For Hui, I feel like we also need to take in consideration the fact he was in military and just cameback. I don't think he had time to dance and train during those time. It's not like ONF or others members had multiple activities in the army (FESTIVALS/ MUSICAL), I don't think he did any musical, any festivals like they did so it's may be one point. Also i'm not suprised about him asking the others trainees around, it's often Kino who help PENTAGON when it's come to their choreographies so he might have the habit to ask him. When it's come to the fandom, I feel like their reactions are mixed, I don't think they are angry, both his members and his fans understand his decision but I feel like the fans are more concerned than anything else? What will happen to Pentagon after this, you know. You were talking about your picks, my number 1 pick being 51, PAIN. I hope Wumuti (he is the one saying he recognize Jiwoong and one who had LIP J say he could be ALL STAR) will be able to shine more, i'm asking MNET to highlight him, I beg, he is literally all-rounder, he did 3 survivals show : SUPER IDOL (China), UNDER19 (Korea) and now BOYS PLANET. He was also a member of SWIN and the sub-unit SWIM-S. During Super Idol, I know he did rap, during UNDER19, he was in the performance team but ended up being complimented about his singing. He was so close to debut in the final group of UNDER19 (Seunghwan was part of it), he was one of the favorite but he had to leave UNDER19 at some point because health condition. So he have a lot of performances and covers already, it's sad to see him so low, I hope he will shine next round. I saw some preview about the next round, what bother me in the show, it's really only the G-group VS K-group format. I wished for the next round, they had them mixed and not foreigners against korean again. For the Signal Song, I didn't mind but here It feel so dumb to me, if you want foreigners in the final group at the end but them already with Korean members. I think GIRLS PLANET was better with this point because they did mix everyone together. To end my rant (I write a lot I'm so sorry), I saw people talking about PEAK TIME and recommending this survival to you. Just saying, I would really be happy to see you react to it. It's by JTBC so I think the vibe might be really different from MNET SHOW. I'm always happy with show having this concept of giving chance to unknow group or group that didn't get the dance to shine as they should but I really love the fact that there are also olders group/constestant coming. I'm not sure if people gave you the list of the contestant so : 24K , AIMERS, ATBO, BAE173 (Hangyul will be here), BDC, BLITZERS, BTL, BXB, DAYDREAM, DNGA, DIGNITY, DKB, GHOST9, IN2IT (one of their ex-member Sunghyun was in PRODUCE X101 but honestly Mnet did him dirty), Jwiiver, KINGDOM, MASC, MONT (Jay from BOYS PLANET is in their agency and should be one of their member normally), NTX, ROMEO, BLK, VANNER, WAO (I remember their group being mocked by Knetz because of their visual and Intertionals fans defending them). They revealed an hidden contestant : Jongup (Soloist now but was a member of B.A.P). Pentagon fans were really waiting for a group comeback when Hui got back from military. Instead, he went straight to Boys Planet 999. It is almost time for renewing contracts with Cube too.... so we are not sure about the group's future if Hui ends up in the final lineup (or not.. Since we all know about how shitty is Cube on managing this kind of stuff). Eldest member, Jinho, unfollowed Hui on Instagram for a little bit when the rumor broke out that Hui was participating, but of course, no one knew about the real reasons. Another member, Shiwon, mentioned on live that they are angry yet on a family point of view, they really understand why Hui decided to join... I read some Pentagon fans comments that are going to vote for Hui in every round until the final round so he doesn't make it to the final lineup. 🙄🙄🙄 I was super angry when I saw that... I am a Universe as well but I will never do that. Super fucked up if they play around with Hui's hard work and determination like that.

I love love love hui, and I completely understand his reasoning for him to be on this show, However, I don't think he needs to debut again especially being in a super popular group like Pentagon. Although I do wanna support him on this, I don't think it's good idea for him to debut again, so I am purposely not voting for him, this goes for both Hwanhee and Xiao too from UP10TION I love those boys so much and yes UP10TION had a lot of ups and downs but I just feel like them debuting again especially being an idol for a very long time, isn't very necessary for them.

tbh i am only watching it now but seeing hui hurts a lot, i've been a kpop fan since 2017 and i was there, not a fan but i was there when pentagon was on their peak, shine was really famous and we even perfomed it, it just hurts when talented people suddenly collapses when they are at their peak
