The song from NCT 127 is Mad Dog from their Neo Zone album. There's also a track video for that song ^^

Jeff! As someone who is currently going through my second time with covid (yes hahaha first time was in beginnings of 2020 and now again in beginnings of 2022), I can assure you will get back on your feet in no time. To be completely honest the fogginess has not been much of a problem for me, but I when I did experience it, it went away pretty quickly as soon as I started to work on my university classes and put my brain to use, so don’t worry, it will get better. If anything you can always write down things if you feel like you need it, but as long as you get back on track since you were away for like 2 weeks I think you will get your groove back, be confident.

In this episode, KLWC and Lachica were heavily criticised by netizens. Yeah like you said it's nothing wrong if it is part of your strategy but there is a difference between strategy, joking and sabotaging. it's not like there are not talented, come on KLWC you guys already beat amazon so what are you afraid of?

jeffavenue

thanks for the reassurance! i guess the mind just needs more exercise! sorry u went through covid twice- no fun!

jeffavenue

good point. i think also what’s disappointing is that after beating amazon, everyone’s eyes were on them to see how they’ll follow up that performance and it was a little shameful that it came to this. the good news is that they’ll grow from this as dancers and as people. s

KLWC are still young so I understand how they think doing something like that was ok. Like Leslie said in Parks and Rec, "It's not technically illegal but it is a dick move". It honestly left me with a bad taste in my mouth because it seems like they knowingly gave them a silly choreography. Again, because of their age I think it should have been up to La Chica to say something about it. KLWC would have still beat Squid even if they gave them something better La Chica were the adults in this situation, so this could have been a teaching opportunity. I hope this doesn't follow KLWC in the future because they are very talented, but it didn't leave the best impression on the public.

did you watch ygx lalisa mv reaction tho? thought you might wanna see kwon twins and leejung there lol

- For the schedule, I think Queendom 2 is expected to be released in March 2022. I-land 2 is said to be in the first half of 2022. Street Men Fighter is Summer 2022. There is no expected time range for Boys Planet yet. Right now, I’m watching Street Dance of China 3 again because of Lay lmao. - I feel like the lack of mentorship from the Masters happened due to the fact that this show was so rushed. There are a lot of crews but only 6 episodes, and the preparation time was also short. So the Masters kinda squeeze in to give the girls as much support as they could. Glad that the girls will get more connection and exposure through this show for sure. - I read somewhere that Mnet didn’t want to make the show long because some of the girls are in their senior year. They have to graduate soon (the national graduation test, CSAT, is a huge deal for all Korean).

I think with ClueC and Squid, we can see the difference between sabotage and strategy, i mean giving a difficult choreo , easy and a choreo that doesn't suit the music can be a strategy plus the fact that the opponent team can learn from the strategy as well, they can develop new skills and make things work. But in this case, they were clearly sabotaging them, from the practice, even it was a completely nonsense "choreography", squid put efforts and ask them to teach them but the leader told her members not to do it... I don't know why they have to do that because skills-wise and by performance, ClueC is much better than Squid,.. a lot of fans were rooting. For ClueC since ep1 but a lot were disappointed with them in this episode.... I personally think also that if they admitted that they did a mistake after the performance, this issue will not get worse but even their mentors are defending the "sabotage".. like apologize and admit your mistakes...

slampoets

You should react to My Teenage Girl. Def better than GP999.

For another survival show I will recommend LOUD is so good and from that show it will come the new boygroups from pnation and jyp. Or YGTB as well. Boys planet is coming out sometime this year too

eli_nhdoaek

I think what ClueC did was more of a sabotage than a strategy but they're still young and wouldn't really think that way. Their mentors should have corrected it right at the start, I mean they are mentors for a reason. They knew it was wrong from the beginning but still pushed through with it. I think after the competition they released an apology video because the girls and their parents received alot of hate from the incident.

Missy

For me, performance wise, both are meh. My Teenage Girl also got some controversy like the Yuri editing-sabotage or the irresponsible judging which Soyeon had to address. I love Yuri, Soyeon and Aiki on the show, but the contestant is not my cup of tea. They are too young, it feels so weird somehow.

jeffavenue

that’s what i was saying about how much mentorship are they getting from the masters. the situation with the rehearsal room seems like the first time the masters are seeing the choreo and at that point it’s too late for them to say anything. i think la chica was also tied up in this situation cause they’re their crew and i doubt they would throw them under the bus but ya. just goes back to ClueC.

jeffavenue

ohhh that makes sense that queendom will be in march cause kingdom was around that time. just so little promo for it :/ maybe next month we’ll start to get word about it. also can’t wait for the other ones! it’s gonna be a busy year! that makes sense, re: school.

jeffavenue

oh i don’t think people got what i meant by strategy. sabotaging someone IS a strategy, i just had to be careful about saying it on the video 🥲 a strategy can be ill-intended that’s why they were so sus about it in the rehearsal lol. but yes i agree. ClueC didn’t need to do any of that. they’re talented on their own and it sucks cause this reflects on their personalities. i’m sure they’ll grow from it. i hope so anyway.

jeffavenue

oh shit the parents got involved?? damn. i’m glad they were able to reflect with their actions and hope that they learn from this. the dance community is very tight and it’s hard to have that rep. they won’t let u in.

emma

I think a lot of viewers also don't care for the part switches/choosing A vs B parts etc, but as much as we want this to be a dance show about quality of choreo/dance and creativity etc, it's not; it's a reality competition show (about dance). At least, that's how Mnet views it, so they're gonna create situations that will give them drama, tension (and also great chemistry and fun interactions) to give them more content to work with and edit. I saw on comment on reddit about how Mnet is tasked now with making a very popular show series even more popular (for SMF) and they will likely try to do so with more drama, evil-editing for dramatic storylines or characters, more extreme or weird or oddly specific challenges so these kinds of challenges and requirements are probably sticking around.

valeria castillo

Please please see LOUD, it’s so different and sooo good. PNation and JYP new boy groups will debut this year; and those kids had so much talent

nkmt

lachica and clue c actually got into a big backlash from knetizens because of that issue, also i agree that it's disrespectful for the other group who is also desperate to be in this competition:(

vega

I would love to see you react to a YG survival show :) treasure box, WIN or mix and match

slampoets

This is so old but def a good one to open Jeff's world to YG boy groups since I heard him say he doesn't know Mino lol.

Both teams (ClueC and Squid) were great BUT it would have been nicer if ClueC played fair and square. Being "strategic" doesn't mean you have to play dirty. And just to share this, I think you missed the part (since you were setting up your phone camera which is totally fine hahahaha) when Monika said with annoyed and frustrated look "They are already really good, what are they worried about? it might have been better if they gave them something hard like waacking... should I say this or not?" then proceeded to say something about it. I think what Honey J meant about Gabee saying "It's for fun" is that it's a competition , a national one where the opponent is serious about winning. If for the other team it's a joke, but for others it's not, then it shouldn't be labeled as "we did it for fun", rather, it's called disrespect and humiliation. Then what annoyed me was when ClueC pointed out Squid for dancing it incorrectly. Squid asked nicely: if you say we’re doing the split move wrong? Why don’t you show us again? ClueC: ERROR 505 “we don’t know how” Squid: can you go over the details of the routine? ClueC’s leader: “don’t try and teach them properly” to her members 💀 Mad props to Monika and Honey J for calling it out on air even if it was so painfully obvious to everyone's eyes. But of course, they're still kids and I hope this will serve as a lesson for them.

KT

Yell had a live and a couple of photos with Break Ambition already so I think they're still continuing the relationship beyond SDGF so that's been really nice. :)

jeffavenue

idk if that’d work tbh. swf became such a big hit because it was refreshing to see talent and also just amazing relationship between the dancers. it was a supportive environment overall. now they wanna stir drama? 🥲

jeffavenue

oh 100% about strategy not needing to be dirty. unfortunately some peoples strategies are kinda dirty 😩 happens often unfortunately. i think a lot of the other coaches didn’t want to say more about it because these kids are minors and i think they wanted to be cautious how it can affect their future- given the hostility of this business and industry. i do appreciate the call out from monika tho.

emma

oh I don't think it will work. Because the show got so big, I feel like any subsequent version after the first swf will lose some charm and appeal because it's now also a promotional platform and contestants might try to "promote themselves" or their brand (e.g. do more interesting things or play a character to get more edits/screentime) as opposed to "promote dance" and dancers overall, which was a big motivation for the SWF contestants (and hence the camaraderie and supportiveness that people liked).

Missy

Oh btw Taeyeon will be the host/MC for Queendom 2, so it is a must-watch lmao. Mnet has just started releasing promotional articles now.

Thanks for your reaction! I love your honest& professional comments about every team performance! I’m looking forward your reaction to the last episode❤️. Thanks for your hard work. (BTW. My favorite team is Turns🥲✨ I love them so much, maybe Jeff can do reaction to Nain(Turns’s leader) choreography dance video or some JerkFamily competition dance video?Oh also, On YouTube there’s Turns practice room for DNA&Itzy’s Twenty~ Hope Jeff can see that~)

About Clue C and whether they should have done that with the swap portion; I'll just say that this is exactly the type of situation and controversy that Mnet was hoping to create with this challenge and these rules. These rules really tempt the crews to throw in something "dishonorable" since the rules don't prevent it. But this show being a show where young dancers are being mentored, it didn't seem to be the right tone to be set, I think you were switching cameras when Monica said it, but she muttered along the lines of "they're so good, what were they so afraid of"? I think that was her issue with it and I kinda have to agree with her.

Jade

Super late but I think my major issue with KLWC and LaChica is their dishonesty. Other crews have used strategies like giving basic choreo or choreo they thought would look messy when done by the other team: but they were honest about it, they were up front about that being their strategy. Whereas LC and KLWC are hiding behind the "they're both funny crews so we gave them a comedic part" when really even if it was for comedy from what we've been shown in the rehearsals they don't even ave a clear idea of what thew moves are because they said the moves were different depending on which video they watched which to me shows that KLWC's intention was to give them. messy unfinished choreo not a comedic one because they could've done that whilst actually having a thought out part switch choreo.

I really love Monica. I admire her. She doesn't shy away from giving her two cents. I hope anyone can get a lesson out of this

Clue C was a big disappointment this episode and it was unfair for Squid to lose because of that.
