Btw they had a digital single 2 months ago in case anyone wants to check it out :) MV for 'Every Day' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ef-BIOc3M6g

Btw on Viki there are two episodes 9. The first one is the continuation of this episode. The second one is a behind the scenes of these two episodes, but it's also a repetition of all the performances of episode 8 and 9. So it doesn't have many new elements. It shortly introduces every member of every team based one their performances from these two episodes. So I don't know whether you want to watch it right after ep 8 and 9, cause it might be a bit repetitive for you. But you should see what you want to do, I just wanted to give you a heads up.

allie

I love yuna kim after unpretty rapstar, especially her stage with jidam vs giant pink and miro. And i hope that one day she will become known and succeed

allie

"who? I don't recognize him". He is jun from ukiss. The man who can sing, dance and rap, besides during this show he starred in the drama. I advise you to watch "class of lies" with him, his character there is terrible, but very interesting.

allie

After your dramas Can you start the penthouse? Best drama of 2020 with crazy acting and superb script

Louie Gabiliño

You’re not just simply eating chips.... You’re eating V-Cut!! OMG! As a filipino away from home, I miss it so much!! When I first watched this, my vote went to stay performance too. I guess to each our own personal preferences. But I also disagree that it’s because of Timo and Hansol’s doing why they got so much vote because if you see, Euijin (blonde guy who fought for his rightful place as 2nd shortest LOL) got the most votes from the individual ranking. And if you see there were three members in kingsman team that were in rank 1-9 and same for the stay team. But I do think that Euijin was gaining more popularity here so that def played a part hahaha. And like I said you’ll find more hidden gems so Jun of U-kiss you will know. This time the rankings will make more sense and based more on talent than popularity. Of course that will still play a big role but more justifiable ranking I would say?

BaoziBang

Jun was the 1st one to get a Super Boot!

Mahima

Just wanted to let you know JUNG HA is currently acting in an ongoing drama "RUN ON". Actually even i didn't knew he was gonna be in that drama and OMG HE LEGIT BOUGHT TEARS IN MY EYES .

hayun lee

maybe its because im a taeyeon fan but i really couldnt get into the 'u r' performance? i think her emotions in the original song were so intense (she's been famous since debut for it) that anyone else who sings it has too much to live up to and it overall fell flat for me ://

Anonymous

Thanks for the reaction Jeff! Also fun fact about the Kingsman performance, Junhee actually sang most of the song for That's What I Like (he mentioned it during a Vlive), his voice sounds so much like Bruno Mars' on the recording!

Hanna

I also feel the same way. Taeyeon just really said "fvck it, i'm not letting anyone cover this successfully" lmao

Amanda Araujo

even after years i still cant believe kingsman team didnt win that match, i loved stay but kingsman was just superior!! btw the pre-recording they say they were using was for the songs because each team recorded the song but they didnt actually sing it on stage since it was focused only on the dance

Natalia Kuroś

I've just binged all episodes 🤣 Well spent second Christmas in my opinion (and present to myself) 😋🎄 I've started to watch your YT channel few weeks ago and I just couldn't wait any longer to visit your patron account.

Anonymous

Idk if it's just me but when Je Up sings, he reminds me of the late Jonghyun. Truly beautiful vocals

You mentioned you hope Hansol is happy right now, so I assume you haven't heard news about his group Newkidd. In fact this April 3 of 7 members (including Hansol) disappeared from all media and promotions. Eventually the company said they were hospitalized for health but up till now they have been missing for over half a year which is extremely alarming and is why you will periodically see hashtags on instagram and twitter to bring back missing Newkidd members. Hansol's instagram was posted with recycled images by the company but it seems as though around October Hansol has posted images/video that seems more recent. Still I hope all kpop fans can help Newkidd fans, NCTzens, etc to BRING BACK MISSING NEWKIDD MEMBERS! BTW the part that has fans really triggered and angry is that the other 4 members are actively promoting even now and the company completely ignores the thousands of inquiries about the missing 3 members.

Anonymous

I've barely started the episode but LOL at "I'm eating chips by the way." I'm glad you had snacks, the episodes are so long and you got so hungry last time haha.

Anonymous

For boy group. Age restriction is true. Some of them are in military service age so yeah. Might be the reason why they can't rebranding. Aside from the agency didn't do well with promotion. Its just as you said. Its unfortunate 😞 Also i agreed with kingsman team did better than stay team. Even tho euijin is my bias, but its fine. He's gaining more popularity from this mission 🤣 Pst. Next mission is best episode in my opinion😋

Jenn BL

Omg Lee Jung Ha is in a new drama I’m watching Run On. I could t figure out where I knew him from and it’s the Unit!! He actually has a big part and is really good!!

Anonymous

The more I watch your reactions the more i know that you’ll just looveee I-LAND! I was wondering if you planned on watching the show ?

brianna a

All you need to know is that in "the unit" everyone was mainly obsessed over the main dancers, while in "mix nine" everyone was obsessed over the rappers... I watched both shows while they were airing since it was during the same time and I was really frustrated... the final groups definitely felt unbalanced to me :/ (And by everyone I literally mean the korean audience voting lol)

Anonymous

Well, mixnine was YG stuff. And YG well known as strong rapper idol group. So yeah. It happened As for the unit. 2017 might be the start of sync dance era. Kinda don't remember 🤣🤣

Anonymous

it will be so good if you start watching “Treasure Box” please think bout it ㅠㅠ

Reem OA

yeah I totally agree I also enjoyed the stay performance much more but tbh both performances didn't meet my expectations

S H

I got to know Miracles in December from this show actually. I think green team had more variety in their vocal tone and I liked Miracles in December better as a song though the 2 male vocal teams were quite evenly matched so I think it was one that could go either way. Semmi was sooooo good in the Who's Your Mamma team. It's one thing to be able to sing/dance/rap well but this mission totally tests producing skills. I think many of the idols in the unit were trained a while back (older gen) and not as many of them choreo/produce their own music vs some of the newer idols. The advantage she brought to her team was very obvious in comparison to the Blood Sweat and Tears team. In the song selection processes, Mamma team already knew they needed something well-known, and also gives equal highlights to both the singing and rapping. It's frankly one of my favourite performances in the unit. Blood Sweat and Tears team like you said, did not consider to put in a climax. I didn't like the music arrangement for it (too soft and sleepy throughout). It might be something I listen to while working, but not something that works well for a performance as it had no wow factor. I think they could have executed sexy with more impact by stripping off the music even further. It was unfortunate that folks were ill and couldn't practice as much. The male dance perf....I liked the first perf better as well initially when I watched it. It felt choreographed more as a dance perf or competition piece, while the second one, like Rain's comments, was a bit more like a standard idol performance. I put the win down to maybe the audience liking the slightly sexy vibe better than the "lit" vibe of the first one. After watching the dancing styles of the contestants more tho, you can almost guess who choreographed which bits :). The first perf it can be seen that feeldog and seyong probably had quite a heavy hand in it. The music editing with sound effects (footsteps when Seyong walks, the spray can etc), is very feeldog, and the bboy bits are very Seyong. The ones doing the flips in the first perf were Rayoon and Daewon, and the person in the 2nd perf who did the backflip was Hangyul. :) btw, the "perecorded" comment for the dance group is referring to the singing. So the first perf had mostly Jun and some feeldog singing (apparently feeldog mentioned in interviews), though I don't know who was singing in the 2nd perf. Maybe Bjoo. Hahah btw doesn't Seyong look so happy to be in the same team as Feeldog? It feels like he comes across less harsh and jokes a lot more. Also notice that Jun and Taeun are in this group and get along so well after that silly boxing ring episode? XD

S H

The profile photos of everyone in those white uniforms is quite misleading hahahah. Most of them are reeeeeally hard to recognize in those profile pics!

Paulina K.

It's funny to me that Jun of U-Kiss (who's now number 1) is literally always one of the main characters in his teams, because he is damn good at everything (rapping, singing and dancing), so in every mission he has fair amount of screentime, but in EVERY episode you just completely forget about him and you're always like "who is he?" hahaha

Allina Khan

I just wanted to mention that for the Kingsman performance Jun (of A.C.E) was the one who sang Bruno Mars song. It made me kinda sad that it was not mentioned in the show that he covered the song for their performance cause he did such an amazing job. Also, Jun helped a lot with the choreography of the dance as well which was not shown or mentioned. He was a little cheated on in this episode when it came to his abilities and talent

eve_ss

46:25 Junhyeok was actually a former member of Day6 (keyboardist) so he's really good at it 🙂 I heard there was rumor that they terminated his contract because he violated their dating ban. But only they know what really happened tho. Male vocal - units Team Green: "Miracles in December" is like a Christmas anthem in Korea so obviously it would have bigger impact if they chose the song however, since that is the case, the pressure was so high as well for them. But I'm proud that they did so well and gave justice to it ☺️ Team Yellow: They really took a risk with their song choice here. I mean UR (by Taeyeon of Girls' Generation) is a B-SIDE track y'all! Although yeah it's a popular song as well. The song is so beautiful and it really did showcase their singing skills. I'm so proud of them ☺️ In technical aspect, I believe Team Green should have won, but I agree with you, Team Yellow also won my heart on this. Both teams did extremely well tho 🥰

eve_ss

2:04:14 Hansol is really a shy boy. He's cute ☺️ I hope you could watch their NCT Life series. It was so fun to watch! ❤ Hansol was on Season 1 in Bangkok in like the last episodes of it. He actually blends in well with the group even though he's shy like that, he can be funny too as well. He's actually one my first biases in SMRookies at that time tho. Currently, actually almost half of his group members in NewKidd had been inactive (including Hansol) for almost a year now due to some injuries. What I don't understand was that their agency JFlo ent. was not giving any updates about their current condition or whatsoever. The remaining members were active on their channel doing covers and stuffs but for others like Hansol, it's almost like they're not part of the group anymore. That's why I'm sad 😞 He's active on his IG account tho. I don't know what's going on but I hope we do get some updates soon from his agency.

eve_ss

I agree next mission was my favorite too! The real avengers team is coming! 🥰

S H

Was a bit strange that he was put into the dance group too though, since his main role in ACE is vocals isn't it?

PositiveThinking

The Who's Your Mama performance is probably my favorite from this entire show. The changed lyrics cracked me up, especially's Kim Euna's "Thick waist flat booty" :D About the adivce against a dark theme for the group that covered BTS - remember they are aiming for Korean audiances. The girl groups doing darker themes, like Dreamcatcher are popular internationally but not in Korea, and I think this was even more extrme in 2017. So I felt it was valid advice. Either way, the perfomance was a mess for other reasons, their theme didn't matter too much.

Allina Khan

I feel like he would have done good in the vocal group as well. Jun is over all an ace so he fits in well with anything. I just wish they showcased him more in this group. Even on the performance they uploaded on YouTube all the comments are about Jun and people asking who he is. He had the potential at the time to be a favourite he just didn't get the right cuts

S H

Yeah I think he got less cuts than Chan in general. But the people who got a lot of cuts had a reason for it in The Unit I feel. So it's either: - they have a sad story - they are super funny and wacky - there's a (tiny) bit of drama That's why people like Joo (Joo cos she was training with Hyuna) and Aruem (cos of the incident with T-ara) started to get less cuts later, and people like Sangil (shown getting vocal help across 2 missions), Casper (who is funny and had some trouble with the missions, but didn't even have his audition shown) got more airtime later. And then there are the "evergreens" like Feeldog who's always there because there's always a story around feeldog (he's either put up a great show, or there mucking around so he's included in the funny cuts). Junyoung (gonna say Junyoung and Junhee to differentiate between Ukiss and ACE Juns lol) is a jack of all trades so he's always kinda there despite being away alot for drama filming etc. Both male and female Euijin also get progressively more airtime by this episode given their strong performances. It's not perfect and 100% fair editing, but I feel like the editors/producers have at least picked based on what they think could create a story for us, the viewers...

Allina Khan

I 100% agree with you. Lol Im just salty because I've grown to really love ACE so Im biased. I watched this for the first time when it first aired and this is my second time watching it with Jeff. It just made me realize that the only edit Jun really got was the one in the boxing ring where he was kinda painted to look like a bad guy but what can be done drama sells lol

Ayane D.K.

Just the fact that Yellow team did Taeyeon’s song got me so excited- UR I seriously wished had a mv so more people could see how amazing that song is. I’m such a snsd and 2ne1 Stan I scream if anyone references them etc. I wasn’t too keen on their rendition of the song, but they made it work for a group since it is a solo song. Thank you for the video Jeff!

Anonymous

Stay was honestly one of my favorite performances from the entire show, you were right that they did not get a very good edit so I usually watch the version where they performed at KBS Music Fest whenever I want to revisit haha, The Unit had a lot of performances that were almost ruined by the camerawork and editing for me.

Cat R

Hansol is indeed very shy around new people and in new situations but once he gets comfortable he becomes more free and playful! Granted not as much as the more "crazy" people like Feeldog, Hojung ect. but he still blends in well and plays with the others well lol in interviews he's more soft spoken as he's by himself and the PD's aren't close with him, as shown early on in the show where Feeldog had to come and interview him for him to actually loosen up and talk more comfortably ;~; I honestly liked Stay more but that's just style preference I think because the like "lit" trendy dance moves aren't really my style. I can say this with unbiased feelings too because while I liked Euijin, I was already an A.C.E fan while watching this and I liked more members in the Kingsman team. The edit for this stage was not good so you were right with that! I might be strangled for this but honestly through out this show I was looking forward to Timoteo since everyone spoke so highly of him but I think he was highly overrated in the show. I'm not saying he's bad because he is a good singer and dancer but there are definitely other people on the show that were better than him at the time I believe.

Anonymous

im just watching this now haha but for the boys' dance groups for sure when i watched this in real time mostly if not EVERYONE that i saw watching this was upset that the red team didn't win because i for sure saw more techniques and wow factors there as opposed to the other but like you said, the black team had hansol and timoteo and euijin was starting get compared to bts jimin at the time so that might've been a factor too like i think a lot of people in the audience voted for euijin because of his jimin visual and dance similarities but he did good for sure but you know... voters dont care for performances but just vote for their favs regardless of mistakes and whatnot unfortunately which is like every other survival show

Anonymous

So what you were saying about Seyong really hit me tbh, as a fan since debut (November 2011!). So a little background info, he was a JYP trainee as a kid but left due to family reasons. He then was recruited by Hwanhee and as a big fan, he signed on. MYNAME debuted and did really well with their debut song BUT a few months later EXO and BAP debuted and kind of drowned other groups out. Then H2 .ade the mistake of taking MYNAME to Japan in 2012 instead of focusing on strengthening their K-fanbase, and while they did pretty well in Japan, they never hit it big in Korea. They have really great songs and high energy dances and SO. MUCH. TALENT. And visuals and yet... nope. Also. Seyong has the tendency to wear his expressions openly and be, well, human and not this practiced idol, and for some Koreans thay rubs them the wrong way so they say he has a bad attitude... even though it has been clarified again and again that he just wants to be real and not present a fake side to fans. So yeah. Thats probably the biggest reason he didn't ever get big. As for this show, as soon as he had that moment with Euijin, I knew he wasn't going to make it. Like I love him and I watched this show for MYNAME mostly, but after the first episode people were saying that Euijin reminded them of Jimin and I knew he would make it because of that. So Seyong dared cross their "darling" and... yeah. UGH. Talent and real personality slipped through their fingers.

Anonymous

Leaving this for the ppl who might actually be watching late like me. I watched for Feeldog so I was really upset about this and never liked Timeteo or the other guy in his group so I was extra bitter. I had no feelings about Euijin until Question...he was ridiculously amazing and he was the top of the bias list. I still follow everything he does now. Check out Question in later episodes and tell me he isn't charismatic AF. I think Seyong is a great performer but feels very 2nd gen/traditional idol (not sure how to say in a not offensive way that I don't mean).

Secretninja312

I feel like the people to compete on audition shows, more than one audition shows, they're in an entirely different league of entertainers. They're not better or worse than a singer or idols who don't compete on shows, but just different. I feel like you have to be a specific type of person with a specific type of mindset to be able to endure that type of pressure, on camera, and have to do all these missions in short amounts of time with little sleep, have your vulnerability shown to the world, and be able to handle viewer response (good and bad). It's not for everyone but I do think there are individuals who enjoy that thrill. The thing with Seyong is, he's very straightforward when he speaks and has a resting B1tch face. So he makes to be a good "villain" type character for a reality show. KBS definitely tried to paint him as the "bad guy" with an attitude throughout the show. I'll admit, I didn't like him when I first watched this series either, but after finishing the show and watching it again, I see why he is the way he is and see that he isn't actually a bad guy. I feel like they also tried to paint Feeldog as a serious "bad guy" too and make it seem like he has a rivalry going on between him, Seyong, and Eunjin in the first few episodes but gave up since he's just a goofball. For Timeteo, I don't think his popularity came from being a Hotshot member because their group was still unknown at the time. They were able to gain some recognition with Sungwoon and Taehyun on Produce101 but nowhere near the resurgence that Nu'est saw. I think his # 1 ranking largely came from the fact he is in the same friend group as Taemin, Kai, Jimin, Sungwoon etc and the fact he was also an SM trainee who trained with EXO. Plus that sob story of his in the begining of the show + his strategic gathering of Team Red (who won the first challenge) painted him in a good light. In a way, I can see why he full on straight shotted his idea, he was fully confident and is very desperate about this opportunity he's given, being on this show. He does have the skills to back it up, but his team definitely was right to knock him down a notch on his leadership skills. A lot of the first few episode rankings is due to who got screentime in the promo song and the audition round. Very few had any notable recognition prior to the show (hence why they're on in the first place). As the show goes on, you'll notice quite a handful of the high ranking contestants drop off as new hidden gems are discovered.

where is the 9 ep? I need it :(
