I think the point of everything was that Carlos didn't get to have a quinceañera BECAUSE he's a boy. It's tradition for girls so Carlos wanted him and for his sixteenth birthday, they are giving him the party that he always wanted and calling it a quinceañero. Also, one thing to remember about WHY Miss Jenn switched the play to Beauty and the beast in the first place is so they can compete in the Menkie awards - this award is given to students who give excellent productions that were originally written by Alan Menken, so if Miss Jenn did switch it up again, it would have to be an Alan Menken musical. At the end of the day, it's weird that North High even got the rights to do beauty and the beast, but both schools can just do Beauty and the Beast.
