White Tulip is one of the best episodes of Fringe for several reasons. It took you awhile to get it but I'm glad you did eventually. Alistair was not a bad guy like you said, he had something terrible happen to him that he desperately wanted to fix, the parallels to Walter's situation and choices are apparent. I love the conversation between the two of them because Walter is the cautionary tale, you can't change what happened without worse consequences, the repercussions of Walter taking Peter from the other universe are huge. As would Alistair's be if he saved his wife. I think he realized that being with her in the end was better than living with her death or the consequences of saving someone meant to die. The thing about telling Peter I don't think you understand is that it's not really a matter of if its the right or wrong thing. Peter will find out regardless, now its just a matter of how that comes to be. There is too much bad on the way from the fallout of Walter's actions for him to remain ignorant.

So sad he didn't get it the first time, it was such a powerful scene when Walter gets the White Tulip at the end.
