Completely agree. I don't think it's a bad season. I love seeing Hope and Klaus scenes and the rest of the characters. But there's something about the Hollow that feels more disconnected than other villains that it's hard to feel as invested.

I like the season, I like everything they did with Kol and Davina, I like that Freya found some love, I like Hope and her interactions with her family and Klaus, they found a really good child actress, which doesn't always happen. However, I for some reason just thought the Hollow was boring, I didn't really care or feel like the Hollow was a threat that mattered until the end of this episode, when it fully took over Hope. I don't really feel like that's great for the story if you don't care about the villain until the end of the second to last episode of the season. As for Marcel's girlfriend, yeah, I don't care much about their relationship, but I think that might be because the show told more than it showed with them, with most of their relationship happening between seasons. She was introduced last season as a broker, making deals for vampires and a minor villain that wanted to kill the Mikaelson's, then between seasons she suddenly was in love with Marcel and no longer a villain, then she was still doing stuff behind his back for most of the season. I like the actress, mainly from Supernatural and a few other things I've seen her in, so I don't want her character to die or anything, I just don't care much about their love story.
