No that was not a Texas accent just to clarify

another really good episode. i love the case as well, jack the ripper but make it new orleans and give it a twist! i'm glad we got that scene with gideon and reid at the end. reid needs someone looking out for him. i think the team is in a tricky spot when it comes to each other. there may be this unspoken code of "we don't analyze each other" because that may feel too invasive. but at the same time, he's a teammate and they want to help him. also this was still an era where mental health issues were seen as a weakness. the team themselves may not see it as a weakness but they may be worried that if they draw attention to what reid is going through, he'll take it as them seeing him as weak. over all, a really, really good episode!

I think Reids issues with Emily has nothing to do with her really. He just need someone to went on and he doesn't know her very well, so she becomes the easy target. And I don't think that it was meant to be a Texas accent in regards to the mans fiancé. She probably was from Orleans and just didn't relocate back for whatever reason (?) But Im not even American so I could be wrong about that.

2024-02-09 10:24:25 I think you missed it but they said because of Katrina some people migrated to Texas so when they flew to Texas to talk to the fiancé of the person who died they’re people who lived in New Orleans before Katrina. Hence the non Texas accent

yup!! before katerina and during (the evacuations) many came to texas. when you don't have anything to return to, you might as well stay. half my graduating high school class was new oreleans kids. the storm had happened 2-3 years before, but their homes and neighborhoods and belongings were all gone. and they were all getting counseling for struggles with ptsd because of what they went through :( i can't even imagine. i went through harvey and even though that was rough, it wasn't nearly as awful but yeah. sometimes it hits me now as an adult just what all they must have been going through amid worrying about tests and homework.
