Ah, I am so sad I will miss the season finale live, coz its back on Wednesdays again(((( Can't really imagine Piper as a dog, because she always had cat energy to me, lol. Cole was totally sincere in that scene with Phoebe, he always had been, even as a evil demon, cos he is still half human and he loves her. he can't change that. Also, I don't think Phoebe realized what really happened at the attic until now. I think she just saw them talking and then Cole killed their innocent. To be honest, the first time I watched I didn't get right away that he actually did the spell to make Cole kill. They didn't show it very well, it was just talking and lots of hand gestures. So Phoebe didn't know about the spell whether she saw it or not, so I understand her losing faith. But that was the point of the story arc, they needed to break her faith in him. If it was only the other two sisters and not Phoebe, Cole wouldn't care and he would stay with Phoebe, maybe get rid of his powers as he wanted, and there would be no evil Cole. Hope, that makes sense, I am rambling now:)

Ok, Angelus and Angel are two different people, because Angelus doesn't have a soul in him at all. Belthazor is not the same, because during his demonic form he still has his human side alive in him. Both sides never get fully separated unless Cole loses his demonic powers. So that's why this comparison doesn't work. BUT, in this case Cole is innocent because he had a spell on him, so he had no free will at all. And it pisses me off too how much Phoebe wouldn't even listen to him. Spike being good and loving someone makes no sense at all since he is also soulless. Writers just made him this way cuz he was a fan favorite I guess

Angel and Angelus were always said to be separate entities. The only person who didn't care about the difference was Xander and, let's face it, he hated both Angel AND Angelus and wished them both dead thanks to his jealousy. As for Cole and Balthazor, Charmed never made the clear distinction between them the way Buffy did with Angel/Angelus. In fact, they're pretty much portrayed as the same. Angel can't exist while Angelus does, vice versa, but Cole and Balthazor exist at the same time. They're the two halves of the same person. I guess that's the difference for me and why I thought Angel couldn't be blamed for Angelus but why Cole can be blamed for Balthazor - because Cole IS Balthazor. I also think neither Piper nor Prue (or even Leo) ever truly let their guard down around Cole and fully trusted him, that's why it wasn't a shock to them that he'd "turn back to evil" and they could turn on him quick. As for Phoebe, it was always the intention for her NOT to know that Cole had a spell cast on him. She had to believe that he did it out of his own free will so she would turn on him, too, and break her faith in him.

Also, I hated that Phoebe literally defiled the Book of Shadows by writing all that nonsense about Cole liking walks on beaches and whatever. Prue has way more empathy than me in that moment cuz I'd be like "THAT IS A FAMILY HEIRLOOM!!!" Also never liked Phoebe going back and forth between "Cole is bad/no he's good" in 2 seconds flat. She gave me whiplash tbh. I didn't care either way but I just wanted her to make up her mind about him.
