oh reid....someone go hug my boy please :( also another fantastic episode that showcases the empathy of the team. this is what i love so much about the show. the humanness of it all. they strike that balance when it comes to certain stories and i just really love that.

I think we are beginning to see a very clear struggle within the team when it comes to each other. Which, at first glance, makes no sense. They are human emotion experts. Surely they should know when someone is having a problem and how to fix it. That's their job... But then again, they spend so much time analyzing everyone they come into contact with that doing it with each other can get complicated. They see each other like every day. They have a close bond and they work together in a very difficult profession. There is a need for boundaries and personal space. So I understand why they might feel hesitant in getting too far into each others business at certain times. And, in the process, failing to realize just how bad the situation has become. At times you don't see something, or you don't want to see something, when it becomes a little too close for comfort. like the family of the soldier wanted to help him, they loved him and saw how he struggled, but they didn't really know what to do. Emily was the first one to say something directly to Reid, which might be because she doesn't have that strong of a bond with him yet like the rest ( as he so kindly pointed out). Great episode and reaction. Looking forward to see more.

About them not clearing out the construction and the kid rolling up on his bike, they said multiple times in the episode that they were undermanned in the police station. So they probably didn't have enough units to block everything off.
