So Brooke is overreacting but you have to understand that she is coming from a place where she already has a lot of trauma around a guy abandoning her to constantly go save another girl who is always in some kinda drama and he insists she's just a friend. Last two times that happened she ended up getting cheated on. First time when Lucas left her to go take Peyton to go see if her dad was ok and they ended up kissing in the motel. Second time when Lucas left Brooke and went back into the school during the shooting to go save Peyton and they ended up kissing.
