Ari is my Cat

My ex had no interest in this show and had seen a couple early episodes and decided it was not her kind of show. I convinced her to watch one episode with me, this one, and now she loves Doctor who. She went back and watched it from the the beginning (new who beginning).

Gibbzee

yeah, this is 2x4 :) not sure how far in advance you record these so you may already know that by now.

I love the way you check if your eyebrows are still attached just before going into your Youtube intros. Great episode this one and it takes a while tog et used to new incarnations of the Doctor. My favourite is yet to come.

Gibbzee

Totally agree on the Rose/Doctor chemistry at the minute. It does change very drastically without us having time to accept where they are in their relationship. Give it time and hopefully it'll become more natural.

Gibbzee

Also, I also really love this episode, solid 9/10 for me. Moffats episodes are generally very well received.

Amanda Logsdon

Ah one of my favorite episodes

Name of the Ship: As you know vessels are often named after famous historical figures and this ship was named after Madam de Pompadour the true life historical figure AKA (Jeanne Antoinette Poisson). This is why drones felt that the final part they needed for the ship must be to do with her (her brain for navigation?) as the mainframe computer got scrambled which caused them to go a little haywire and use the crew for parts. The Doctor never made that connection because he didn't know the name of the ship so it remained a bit of mystery to him as we hear from the dialogue at the end. That is why the name of the ship is the reveal.

Gibbzee

Their ship was called the SS Madame De Pompadour, which explains why they thought they needed her brain specifically. Also, you mentioned not seeing any other room in the TARDIS, but you saw his big-ass wardrobe in The Christmas Invasion when Tennant was choosing his new suit. (Also, the 9th Doctor has mentioned different rooms and has given Rose directions before).

Ari is my Cat

This is my favorite episode of the series.

Ari is my Cat

Yes the Doctor was busy trying to find the right window so he sent Rose.

Ari is my Cat

The fireplace had a loose connection which was why the Fireplace was jumping time frames somewhat randomly in one direction.

I love that Dexter was a 10 worthy episode the same week Doctor Who is 10 worthy and the next Firefly episode is a 9 or 10. Lot of good stuff coming up.

Unpopular opinion: I really dont like this episode

John Smith

Is there a schedule anywhere of when Doctor Who reactions go up or any reactions in fact?

GeekedOutNation

Not really. They go up once a week. They have been going up more times than that sometimes because the show was Fast Tracked which mean more episodes a week.

Casey Mead

ugh my least favourite episode

Aimee

Me neither. I've personally never understood the hype with this one. It's got some moments, but Sophia Myles annoys me in pretty much everything she does, and the story is just so weird.

The ship named SS Madam De Pompadour is also 37 years old.

Opinions are always fair, and not everything is for everyone, but it stinks that you don't get the same feeling that I get when I watch this episode.....I just can't explain it, it hits on every level and that is really cool. I hope there are other ones that you love because everyone should go through a "10" rated episode (top rating in their opinion, not everyone else's)

TheMew

I never understood why knowing it could be years when he went back if he was going to take her why not just bring her through the fireplace at the same time as him there at the end.
