I'm sure this has been explained elsewhere and I just missed it, but why is her skin that particular color?

Her skin is just very very light. Dead-pale, I'd say. Because of the night light, I made her skin bluish. I needed to show a big difference in the color of her skin and an ordinary person. Of course later I will explain why her skin is a light shade :)
