First off, I would like to thank everyone for the continued support you've shown me and I hope you all have a great new year! I've decided after some discussion that it would be best to make the upcoming title called "Happy Heart Panic" in Game Maker Studio 2. I think branching into a more professional engine will allow me to have a lot more control over what I can do; for example, I could include combat, stats, and items more effectively. The switch will also allow me more creativity in the format of the game.

What will the next title be like so far?

The next game called "Happy Heart Panic" will ideally be a 2D side-scrolling beat em' up that will allow you to switch between the beloved male protagonist "Whispy" and a new female protagonist "Blue", the heroine of the adventure. The game will have multiple stages with set themes and foes with grapple animations. The art style of the game and scenes may change but I will do my best to make sure they look polished and nice alongside provide concepts. Worst case scenario if it all becomes overwhelming is to just make the game in Rpgmaker MV but I would love to hear your thoughts!

  What are your goals for January?

  • Provide Concepts, art, and ideas for Happy Heart Panic.
  • Try and produce a workable demo in the new engine.
  •  Polish the Patreon Page and seek to further improve the rewards.

If you have any questions or concerns to then you're free to drop in the discord group or message me directly! Happy upcoming new years!

I'm excited to hear it's going to be a sidescroller beat em up! I like myself a good action game :3

Sounds great, I just hope it remains for everyone. Got a bit worried about the "remove male/male" option from last game, not sure if that was just for choice or if that was pressured in.

I don't imagine Whispy as much of a fighter so it'll be interesting to see what his moves are. Sounds like an overall interesting project!

Ooh, I wonder what kind of character 'blue' is.

Oh dear, You're making your own version of Projext X Love Potion Disaster? That's a looooot of work ;3;

Good luck, girl. Wish you the best on this endeavor. ^^

I'm concerned making a sidescroller would greatly diminish the storytelling opportunities that are far more easily present in an RPG, I have a feeling branching sequences of events would be absent in a sidescroller fighting game.

I don't plan to ever remove the M/M content; I adore the stuff and I don't feel like their is enough of it. So no need to worry about that<3 I just will be including Blue as another character you can play as.

Oh yeah! I think I will have to get creative with him. I am considering later on opening up a poll where I let people vote between him and Daisy, another character more suited for combat and give Whispy a more civilian role but we will see. My goal right now is to get the basics in first before building up from it.

I have some rough concept art in the discord channel of "Blue" already posted but I plan to polish it some more before I showcase it. So far I am very happy with her design~

Oh I adore that game! Also it is a lot of work but I think it will worth it in the long run since it will let me work in a more professional engine, allowing me to be more flexible with what I can present. Although if it becomes overwhelming then I can always step into rpgmaker MV since I made sure to pick it up. I think it'll be fun to see what I can produce<3

That's a completely valid point that I would have to try and address in the game. I think that I will certainly have to get creativity in the new engine to tell the story of events.
