fun, lots of great references, wish the birds were a bit more involved as characters but still fun, the gutterspace concept imo should be expanded upon in terms of who can be dragged in and influenced by it

Preying on the Birds has erotic sex but kinda keeps the reader at a distance. It relies on a very meta joke that the characters are panels of an unreleased comic that Dead and Gwen infiltrate. The joke is kept up to another level here, satirizing the concept of panels themselves as non-glimpses of a moving world that Dead and Gwen exist in but the DC characters don't. In short it is the opposite of Lust Avenger, shit's hot as hell but there lacks connection narratively. On the plus side Llama's artwork doesn't appear rushed at all, the smallest details on faces hold up all the way. Real fine work here.

Great concept, using the gutterspace to bend reality, and hopefully it gets explored more but I think Wade's and Gwens meta commentary kinda took away from the art / story. 'The Birds' not talking not only added to the wall of metatext, but it made them lack a sense of character, which is what I like from these stories.
