Just another Monday

I love the 3-way w/ Emma & teen-Jean. The risk of CP in virgin Jean was a stimulation too. I soooo want to see what Magik did to him tho. Really hope there's a sequel... hell some of your books DESERVE a sequel they're rather that good. 8/10

I agree with the above, very fun overall

I go from blasting voters to praising them (such is life) because this one was brilliant and hot. It's hard to break down all the good things in this story. So I'll try in parts. Character: This one focuses on Emma and Jean very wisely and spends a large amount of time on their history that makes sense on a genius level. Emma seems to partially resent, endure, respect, and even admire this nueva Jean and her interjection into her universe. This makes tantalizing scenes that stir up the juices in the brain as Emma both allures and attempts to exert power over Jean. Peter doesn't show up until the halfway point but I honestly didn't notice or care. Structurally: The issue opens with a lot of dialogue that shows Emma's motivation and Jean's intrigue in great style. As it moves through Grey's experience it contrasts sharply with her desires that more closely resembles Ms. Frost's actual history (all these scenes are almost too hot as a Mystique book could do some interesting Futa self-cest). Illyana is used a plot device but since this issue had other needs I'm totally fine with her being under-used and I loved her reactions at the various Spidey verses. Costumes: Emma keeps on her epaulets and cape like a warrior queen even though she is willing to strip at a moment's notice as Jean struggles with her inhibitions. As her confidence increases so goes every stitch of the costume but it never feels like a generic redhead because of the great character work. Grit: Some have an issue with the climatic penetration (I'll admit I didn't think it was going to go there) but I was strangely moved as two lost virgins 'lost it' together. I didn't think it was gross or inappropriate (lets not ever through around the claim above so lightly because even if she was a loli (she isn't) it still wouldn't be that claim) and it was shockingly hot to me. The rapture and connection between Emma and Jean was great, a perfect bow as they embrace and resolve to continue to explore together (they never lost sight of each other during the sex as well). If I had to criticize, the cover scene didn't happen but it would have been a terrible distraction so good on you.

Thank you so much for your thorough analysis. It's very helpful and makes me understand better what readers get from what I deliver. My own self-critique tells me this story may have benn too overwritten, narratively. Even with the extra 9th page. Too much plot, too much dialog (let's be honest: last page has 38 speech balloons!!). But it's also good experimentation on how much can really be put in a story and still have come out decently. I think it worked, overall. A bit too crowded, but it did the job. Now, about your last remark, on the cover scene, I usually use covers as a concept poster image. I focus more on the pinup'esque factor and the synthesis of what the comic is about, and it naturally portrays things that don't represent an exact moment in the precise narrative. Kinda like movie posters do. ;)

I like to see a sequel to this and I wonder what happen between Jean and Emma back at the dorm.

I liked this comic even as someone who doesn't particularly find Emma interesting, dislikes the "old new" X-Men and doesn't even know much about Magik. It actually made me a little sad to write that review because I used to be the biggest X-Men fan but those days are long gone now. Every couple of months I try to read an X-Book and it's like the characters are shallow parodies of their former selves themselves nowadays. Well, that turned out as more of a "modern Marvel sucks" rant than a review but basically I thought the book was an enjoyable read despite not particularly likine the characters featured apart from Spidey himself.

I kinda understand what you mean about the modern era of comics narrative. When I started this, my favorite storyline from Marvel was the Ultimate Universe. But now it's dead and there's not much I can do about it, except writing my own kinky versions of the old and new stories. ;)

Little trivia: I think this is one of my first depictions of virgin blood from a broken hymen.

Shendude

There was a lot going on in this one, but it flowed together naturally, so I feel that actually enhanced it. Great stuff. Though I feel like Ilyana's trip through the multiverse could work as the basis for a whole comic in of itself, so having it just here feels a bit wasteful.

After Wolververse and Gwenpool#2, I felt another full multiverse-based comic was too soon. That being said, there IS another large ensemble story coming very soon. Stay tuned!

We really need some Magik here. Hope a sequel happens
