A quick announcement (Patreon)

Hey! So... I just wanted to let y'all know there's not gonna be any song polls for the next couple months, but for a good and (hopefully) exciting reason! Back in 2017, when we were just starting to get some traction on YouTube, I was getting a lot of requests to analyze Bohemian Rhapsody, but I didn't really feel up to the challenge yet, so instead I made a promise that if we ever hit half a million subscribers, I'd do it then. The last few months have been really good for us (Thanks in no small part to the Black Parade video, so shout-out to Black Parade Gang for y'all's persistence!) and after 6 years on YouTube, we crossed that line in October.

That said, the song is still pretty daunting. There's so many different sections that I worry that my usual close-reading approach is going to result in something way too long to publish, and I don't want to skim over all those interesting details, so I've decided to make it a two-parter. For personal and logistical reasons, I'm only going to be making one video in January, so my plan is to do the first half there, and then use February's normal song analysis slot for the second half. That way I can give the analysis the space it deserves. So yeah, song polls will resume in February!
