Today, I will deliver a knowledge of rare youkais around the world again.
I received information from a kind reader in the Democratic Republic of Congo, so this time I tried to draw a Youkai (or Cryptid) from Congo. Its name is ”J'ba FoFi”!

The J'ba FoFi is a giant spider from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Rather than being a Youkai, it is generally treated as a cryptid.

Well, in the ”Anime-Tamae!” world, cryptids may be depicted as modern Youkai, so I thought it would be okay to depict it as a Youkai girl from Congo this time!

The original J'ba FoFi is an unknown giant spider in Congo.
Its body is brown with a purple mark on its abdomen, and its legs are said to reach up to 1.5 meters.

It is said to have a deadly poison and occasionally attacks and kills humans.
There are encounter stories from as far back as 1890 and 1938...
And recently, it is said to have been captured on a night video in Mozambique in 2013.

Of course, in the world of ”Anime-Tamae!”, I want to depict it as a spider monster girl!

The J'ba FoFi that I tried to characterize this time is integrated into human society, involved in the textile industry, and is popular on social media as a fashion influencer...

She loves Japanese anime and may be thinking of visiting Japan someday, making contact with Shinka and Sagiri, and causing some buzzworthy event!
But she may also be attracted to President Gaster, who is immensely popular on social media, and may end up siding with Gaster...

There are various possibilities!

There are many cryptid-like beings in Africa, so if there is an opportunity, I would like to reinterpret them as Youkai and try characterizing them.

ああっと、日付が9月になってしまいましたが、8月最後の更新とさせてください！

本日は妖怪講座をお届けいたします。
コンゴ民主共和国の読者様より情報をいただいて、今回はコンゴの妖怪(UMA?)を描いてみました。その名も「ジュバ・フォフィ」です！

ジュバ・フォフィ(J'ba FoFi)はコンゴ民主共和国の巨大グモ。
妖怪というより、一般的にはUMAと扱われる存在かもしれないですね。

まあ『あにめたまえ！』ワールドでは、UMAも現代妖怪っぽい感じで描いていいかな…ということで、今回はコンゴの妖怪として妖怪娘化してみました！

本来のジュバ・フォフィは、コンゴに伝わる未知の巨大グモ。
体色は茶色で腹に紫色の模様があり、その脚は1.5mにも達すると言います。
猛毒を持ち、まれに人間を襲って殺してしまうこともあるのだとか。

古くは1890年や1938年に遭遇譚があり…
最近では2013年にモザンビークで夜間ビデオに撮られたとも言われています。

もちろん「あにめたまえ！」の世界では、蜘蛛のモンスター娘的な姿として描いていきたいですね！
今回キャラ化してみたジュバ・フォフィは、人間社会に溶け込んで繊維産業に携わり、ファッションのインフルエンサーとしてソーシャルメディアでも人気を集めている…というイメージ。

日本のアニメなども大好きで、いつか来日してみこっぷるに接触し、なにか一層バズる出来事を起こしたい…なんて思っているのかもしれません！
でもソーシャルメディアで絶大な人気を持つギャスター大統領に惹かれて、ギャスター側についてしまうこともあるかも…？
色々と想像が膨らみます！

アフリカにはUMA的存在も多いので、機会があればそれらも妖怪として捉え直して、キャラ化していってみたいですね～。
