Such an iconic episode for Lane, Mrs. Kim and Dave. Always makes me laugh and solidifies many of our love for Lane and Dave. And Mrs. Kim is always a favorite of mine. When I first watched the show, I was ready for Jess to go. I was Team Rory and will always be Team Rory. Will never be a Rory hater even when she has multiple missteps. Yet today, having completed the series a few times, I am fully Team Jess with respect to the men in Rory’s life. All I will write is continue watching. And I think people begin / will begin to appreciate his character upon rewatch and overall growth which we haven’t seen yet…. IMO, they messed up his character and their relationship on purpose at this stage. Their gamble flopped and now we have to watch to see what happens and if they can fix it. Best comment of yours (and there were many) was “at 88 you are just a walking corpse”. LOL! And not true. Nowadays people are living well into their 90s and healthy. Oh, someone probably already alerted you. The song reference at the beginning is from the movie Beaches. Bette Midler stars in it and sings Wind Beneath My Wings. ‘Did you ever know that you are my hero……’ Finally, the pallbearer/lawyer Lorelai and Sookie are speaking to is Melissa M’s real-life husband Ben Falcone. And Jess’ dad is Rob Estes. He’ll show up in some of the other shows you may react to eventually like the original Melrose Place and the 90210 remake to name a few.
