I am not sure if its also said in the first episode that Susannah had cancer a few years ago and cant watch it back right now. BUT what I noticed in your reactions to the first episode and haven't ist noticed on both times I watched it before is that in the first minutes, in the introduction, when we see the characters as young kids and then as only a few years younger as they are in the main plot with the same actors we can see in a few shots that Susannah wears a headscarf and it looks like she doesn't have hair at that point from chemo
