Unveiling the Unknown - Dev Blog 17/03: Main Character, Premise and Gameplay (Patreon)

Unveiling the Unknown is the name I've chosen for my next game, which is a collaboration with the artist mdf-an. This is their character, and while it doesn't have an official name, I've chosen the default name of "Lily", but I'll let you customize what name she has.

In fact, I'll let you customize more than just her name; you can choose one of four options for Lily:

• A biological female that is hit by a futanari curse
• A biological male (femboy) that is hit with a feminization curse
• A "newhalf" is an individual born with both female breasts and a penis.
• A MTF transsexual.

Lily is the only character that will have a penis in sex scenes. This is going to be a female x futa game, and Lily is your first-person point of view character throughout the game. I'll be working hard to make the maids beautiful in both body and mind. I'm certain that even if you're not into futa, you will still be able to enjoy the game for its semi-lesbian content.

I have also included some screenshots of the mostly placeholder, work-in-progress UIs that make up the skeletal structure of the game's dungeon and main hub.

The dungeon is the main gameplay element of Unveiling the Unknown, and you'll be taking your party of maids into the dungeon to fight enemies that keep increasing in difficulty and dropping more valuable rewards. Spending time and upgrading your maids will allow you to go further into the dungeon, and this'll cycle into the manor...

The manor is the main hub, and here you can talk and interact with all your maids. In the second screenshot, there are three icons on the left, which are the "Dungeon", "Relationships", and "Shop" buttons. You can use resources found in the dungeon to upgrade the manor, buy new outfits, and unlock new content. In the bottom left, we see a minimap of the manor, which you can use to quickly travel around.

The main gameplay loop will be familiar to those that have played Friendship with Benefits: you select a maid, and then you will initiate a story event with that character, which will culminate in a sex scene. Unveiling the Unknown has the added benefit of feeding into the dungeon minigame, which I hope will be a fun way to pass some time and mix up the pacing. Between character events, there will also be a main story moving in the background, so let's talk about that!

The main story of Unveiling the Unknown is going to focus on the easily understood and established trope of a legendary human hero versus the demon queen. In this universe, the earth is hollow, with humans living on the surface and demons living in an expansive underground network. The thing is, you're not the legendary hero; you're their powerless twin brother or sister, and actually, the maids aren't even interested in you. The role of the maidens is to provide support for the legendary hero, acting as his most powerful warriors and helpers. Eventually, after defeating the demon queen, he will choose one of these maidens, and their child will become the next legendary hero, and the legendary hero is so fertile that all it'll take is one ejaculation to pass on his powers, and with that, he'll lose them, and humanity will be without a hero for almost two decades. As a result of this, the Demon Queen has tried a plethora of seductive methods to defeat the hero indirectly, and this game's story is one of those attempts.

Having received a mysterious package that somehow made it past the security, you mistakenly receive your twin brother's mail due to your shared surname. Upon opening this, you're hit with the curse that incites the entire premise of the game, causing the main character to become incredibly, insatiably aroused at all times. This would have been perfect if it hit the legendary hero, but... it didn't. Not only that, but it had some side effects; if the main character is female, they will have found themselves growing a penis! If the main character is a femboy, they will grow some hefty breasts!

Upon hearing of this, your mother orders several of the maids to care for you while "Beatrice", an expert nun, prepares to purify the curse.

And with that knowledge, the prologue of Unveiling the Unknown ends!
