The first build release of 2024 is almost ready!

This year we are going to tackle many game-relevant areas such as combat system, level art and more quests. Updates are ramping up over the coming releases but this build already has various improvements and a few new things for you to experience :)

Story mode information:
The story implementations have now entered spoiler territory so we have included a warning at the key dialogue option.

And now let's see what this release brings to the table…

Here are the changes coming to the build since the $25 testing version from last week:

Additions:
• Added 13 new sandbox sex animations, see the full list here
• Added new character: Mona, a Warrior Villager
• Added new character: Reginald, an explorer who came with the Entourage of the expedition
• Added new character: Taurok, Bull-Kerpali from Apoc
• Added new outfit: Blackrock Warrior for several Max and Sethro based characters and Shey
• Added new outfits: UmbarFemaleA and SexySweaterDress for Maya
• Added new outfit: Barbarian for Bol, Zyke and Frank
• Added new outfit: Lizard Warrior for Lazra, Corbac and Drakon
• Added new outfit: TornClothes for Maya and Shey
• Added new hair style: CurlyEnd for all female humans
• Added new hair style: Jekyll hair and mustache for all Sethro based characters
• Added some dialogue and logic requirements to Lala for some flavor going into the ritual scene
• Added log entry and player comment for Max upon entering Apoc if quest "Find a New Home for Lala" is running to hint the player found the right place
• Added blockout assets to Lala's new home in Apoc
• Added confirmation prompt when exiting game in main menu
• Sandbox editor: Added "Execute every frame" option to Lua prop
• Sandbox editor: Added new featured sandbox scenes

Improvements:
• Resolved "Cave of Wisdom" quest not starting if "We Come in Peace" is succeeded and "First Contact" was already finished
• Resolved not being able to open the Cistern Door with the Prison Key
• Lala's new home is blocked by a door until she moves in
• Rhoc's footprints now correctly spawn when starting his quest "Follow Rhoc's Tracks"
• Resolved resolution issues after exiting VR
• Updated south eastern desert
• Updated rocks around the Alpha Camp
• Finished work on the cliffs around Pearl Village
• Updated Adûn Dungeon blockout
• Updated Lake Village cliffs
• Resolved Maya hit sounds not being affected by audio settings
• Resolved player character getting saved as despawned in save game
• Sandbox editor: wl_editor_duplicate_object now returns the duplicated object
• Sandbox editor: Resolved parented objects not getting selected when duplicating them
• Sandbox editor: Resolved portal prop not working reliably
• Sandbox editor: Resolved sandbox characters getting teleported into the floor when opening sandbox editor if they are scaled down
• Sandbox editor: Resolved prop collection Share and Delete buttons not being clickable
• Sandbox editor: Improved prop category UI
• Sandbox editor: Resolved green UI Layer selection not disappearing when UI Layer is deleted
• Sandbox editor: Resolved wl_get_object_position returning character capsule location instead of feet location
• Sandbox editor: Sharing prop collections now uses .wlsave as well
• Various improvements to dialogues

Known Issues:
• Nav mesh generation is very slow for performance reasons, so NPCs can get stuck in the middle of their path, but will continue once the nav mesh is generated
• Setting animation speed and amplitude to zero causes sex toys to disappear
• Clothes textures will not fully load in the character creator
• Physics break if you scale characters in the sandbox editor
• Rendering issue on moving characters - most noticeable on hair and clothing

• Resolved VR not receiving rendering output (if you were using the r.NeverRenderDirectlyToWindow=False workaround, we recommend removing it as it breaks save game thumbnail generation)
• Resolved guiding NPC being stuck after save game load
• Resolved a case where NPCs would disappear on save game load
• Resolved Phallus Mushrooms reappearing after save game load
• Resolved combat hit sounds not being affected by volume settings
• Updated the Adûn Dungeon exterior areas
• Updated Umbar and the surrounding area
• Reworked the area around the World Tree and the cave underneath
• Reworked the large cave and cliff behind Sky Village
• Increased healing from stimpacks
• Farus now moves to Apoc after finishing the "Shame" quest and talking to him
• Resolved Maya being killable
• Resolved bystanders attacking the winner of a duel
• Resolved being able to win duels after having been defeated already
• Resolved current outfit not getting saved in save game
• Resolved rounding issue with settings sliders
• Resolved NPCs attacking player while in dialogue
• Resolved NPCs sometimes stop attacking
• Resolved Maya not having her stimpacks equipped
• Resolved floating character name widget showing the wrong name for one frame
• Improved sex minigame camera system
• Sandbox editor: Position, Rotation and Scale labels are now clickable to copy the vector (Normal click for event system representation, shift+click for Lua representation)
• Sandbox editor: Character customization presets now save the color values in linear format, allowing saving of color values above 1
• Sandbox editor: Resolved extra meshes reappearing when "Show Extra Meshes" is off
• Sandbox editor: Resolved custom poser controls not disappearing when exiting play mode poser
• Sandbox editor: Resolved survival wheel being interactable while it is invisible causing custom UI elements to not be clickable
• Sandbox editor: Resolved characters loading in incorrect locations when scaled
• Sandbox editor: Resolved incorrect sorting in summon character menu
• Sandbox editor: Duplicate now uses copy/paste behavior for consistency
• Sandbox editor: Standard duplicate (Ctrl+D) and paste (Ctrl+V) now both create unique names, use Ctrl+Shift+D/Ctrl+Shift+V to duplicate/paste with the original name
• Sandbox editor: Outfits now show their index in sandbox mode
• Various improvements to dialogues

Does anyone else have problems with resolution ? When i do something like change a character's outfit or load a scene the textures reset and get all low and undetailed.

Jekyll hair and mustache is nice, please port those to the other guys too. Also like all of the hairstyles and beards available to Ziad, can you give those to more people?

Low res textures come from lacking VRam on your GPU. There can be many reasons for it but it is generally recommended to have at least 8Gb. There is also still an unresolved bug with texture mipping that doesnt step through and only ever uses max res or min and nothing inbeetween. You can set textures to High or Medium to see if that circumvents the problem.
