I think that is supposed to be a major joke of the series. Most dungeon stories make the town folk out to be incompetent or unimportant. But how can a druid that can turn nature against you or a bard that can curse silence into an entire castle be unimportant? Even quiss the town sheriff arguably one of the lower rung monster in town can accidentally destroy a region using duck.... Is it any wonder delta needs to be so awesome to be the star of this story?

Every thing in delta is both the absolute truth and horrifically simplified to prevent brain damage.... Children need to have fun and not bleed through there orifices. Witnessing eldritch truth.
