So excited that Kyle will be in this episode!

Hello everyone! This past weekend, I read through Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars, a novel bridging the events of Fallen Order and the coming Survivor, and it's pretty solid for the most part. While there are other game franchises that I think have excellent books like Gears of War and Dishonored (not to mention the Halo series), I feel there's more opportunity for stories of the written word for many other games to go alongside the run of tv/movie adaptations we've been getting. So I ask you Allies, what, if any, game or game series would you love to see have a story or stories from its universe in books/comics? Thanks for taking this submission if you do and stay Easy fellow Allies!

Sup!! Is the ps5 pro a day one buy or are you going to wait??? And how sweet is that rumored disc drive 😜

Keep it up Capcom! I'm 60+ hours into RE4 and about 10 hours from getting my platinum. Thank you for only adding payable items that don't make me feel like I'm missing out! Exactly how these things should work. Keep it up!! Love n Respect to you all.

Howdy Allies! I love Tchia so much! It has such a cozy, earnest vibe running through the whole thing. I'm honestly blown away by how fun it is to move around, being able to scale *everything* is a ton of fun and I'm shocked at how few issues I've had in terms of getting stuck on geometry or Tchia moving differently to what I had imagined in my brain. As someone who had been on holiday to New Caledonia it got me thinking of other unique places I'd love to explore such as a truly dense city like New York. Do you have any holiday destinations you'd love to revisit in video game form?

Also.... Keep It Up! Gran Turismo 7! The latest patch added a high frame rate mode offering 4K resolution at 100fps and it feels incredible to play! They have been constantly adding more content and improving the game so I can't wait to see what they have in store for us next!

Hell Allies and Kyle! I have a question for Kyle. Are you still running?

SORT IT OUT: Been playing Midnight Suns on Series X and loving it but damn the UI font size is so small with no option to increase it. Sort it out 2K and Firaxis! I know games are becoming accessible but the bare minimum should be at least this. I remember this was an issue with Mass Effect 1 when it first came out but it's 2023!

SORT IT OUT: Nintendo, Splatoon 3 has only two button to give commands to communicate with random allies. Booyah! and This Way. This Way becomes Ouch! Or Help! when you splat depending of the mode. Give us more! D-Pad has four direction, why not use them all. It's been like this since Splatoon 1.

Tchia - this game keeps putting me to sleep!! It's such a chill time, and just running around or traveling on the boat I find myself falling asleep. Anybody else get sleepy playing certain games?

Also SORT IT OUT - Jim Ryan & Sony - what do the executives in Japan see in Jim as a leader? He seems to have perennial foot-in-mouth disease and seems to be generally disliked, why keep someone around that keeps making big PR blunders?

Do you think Resident Evil will ever bring back two-player co-op? RE5 is the greatest co-op game of all time, and I love the asymmetrical approach taken by Revelations 2. I think it’s time to bring back the local co-op multiplayer!

I've been playing Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon off and on since its release and I feel like it's going to be one of the most slept-on releases of 2023. I know Bayonetta 3's reception was relatively divisive and there's a million great games to play right now, but Bayonetta Origins is really scratching an itch I didn't know I needed right now. It feels like what Okamiden was to Okami. It's got beautiful art direction, Zelda-like sensibilities and an amazing OST. I hope more people find time for it by the end of the year, but do you think Bayonetta 3 soured people on the franchise going forward? It was my #1 GOTY pick for 2022, but I understand why people might be hesitant jumping into Origins. -Matty (UnexpectedEnemy)

On the 11th, Fortnite will have the Attack on Titan event which will bring Eren Jaeger to the game and what looks like also Mikasa and Levi. My question, do you think Fortnite will ever lose steam and fall off? How much more can they add and when it eventually does go offline, what do you think will happen to all those skins players have purchased over the years? At this point, I feel like myself personally, have spent at least a couple hundred pounds and I'm on the low end. Still hoping for One Piece. Love and Respect

KEEP IT UP! PlayStation remote play, and Share Play. With good Internet these features are amazing. My friend and I use shareplay to play couch co-op online games multiple times a week. Thanks to this we've played through Grim/Gal Guardians, Resident Evil: Revelations 2, all the Dark Pictures games, and even Cuphead. My friends favorite part is we don't have to buy two copies of each game and he can blame lag when he dies. I wish they'd sort out the 1-hour timer, but I know they won't.

Just want to say "Hunk, my beloved" after playing through RE4 Mercs. My boy is back in great way and that really helped me get those S ranks.

This could be a sort it out, or not whatever you like. I just don't understand it. Why does Capcom continue to waste time, money and effort on half baked standalone multiplayer RE games like Resistance, RE:Verse or Operation Raccoon City when they have not one but TWO great existing modes in Mercenaries and Raid Mode from the Revelation titles that can easily be made into standalone games. What makes this more baffling is that they made a Mercenaries game for 3DS that I put a ton of time into. So my question is why is Capcom so hesitant to make either one its own platform or dare I say “live service” game. Thanks and stay easy. Ktom675 (Kay-Tom)

Question: Hey Allies, with BOTW 2 just mere weeks away, what's your reflection of the post botw-era of games inspired by it? Not just games directly referencing it like Immortals Fenyx Rising, Genshin Impact, but also games that took the spirit of it like Elden Ring. Do you feel the impact has been made, is it too soon, is there not enough? Did the industry take the right or wrong lessons?

KEEP IT UP: cool unlockables in Remakes and Remasters: I am playing Resident Evil 4 Remake right now and just finished Metroid Prime Remastered. It's really cool to unlock the models and galleries in RE4 and Metroid Prime. In Metroid you even get to unlock Artworks and Designs from the people that made the original version and also from the remaster, which made me realize, how much effort and work was put into this remaster. I would love to see more games have old and new unlockable content in their games - A big KEEP IT UP!

Hey Allies, I started playing Bayonetta 3 a couple months ago but ended up pausing my playthrough a few chapters in and moving onto other games for the time being. I found I was getting annoyed with how you were just constantly bouncing from random environment to random environment, like they couldn't come up with logical transitions between areas, which really ruined the flow of it all for me. It's been awhile since I played 1 or 2 but I don't remember this being an issue I had with them. Is this an issue you guys noticed or am I just nitpicking too much? L&R Logan Tawse

Sort It Out! It's probably way too late for this and there is no chance of this happening, but I wish game developers would stop putting RPG like mechanics into every game. Experience points/leveling, crafting/cooking, a dozen stats, skill trees, weapon durability, tons of gear, class customization etc. It was fine when those things were only in RPG's and I only had to engage in those mechanics when I was in the mood for an RPG. Or they were extremely simplified (like heart pieces in Zelda acting as “leveling up“). But today, I can't get away from them or they continue to get more and more complex. All those things end up feeling like a waste of time to me and make the game feel more bloated and tedious and just get in the way of what is fun to me - Actually playing. The more time that I spend looking at menus, deciding what to do with my gear, stats, or resources, the less happy I am. Instead of feeling more “free“ and “open“ to customize the game the way I want, I feel restricted and trapped by analysis paralysis. I don't want more options, I want better options. So I'm not too excited about Tears of the Kingdom right now because of the extra crafting, and 50 types of arrows to choose from instead of 6! Some people want games to have settings that can tweak the difficulty of puzzles and combat separately. I want one that simplifies or gets rid of the stat screen or reduces the number of collectable resources. But at least I still have a lot of older games in my backlog to play in between all the “RPGs“.

For those that have played Tchia, how are you liking the humor? I'm only maybe two hours in but already I'm surprised just how well some of the visual gags and jokes land. I think we can all agree that there aren't very many true comedy videogames out there, and even then only some of them are actually funny, but I really appreciate this recent trend of jolly games having a decent sense of humor without relying on low hanging fruit or references.

Email/Question Hey Allies, Got a random one for you guys but I was wondering what video game sound bites or voice lines live “rent free” in your head. For example I can’t say or hear ‘Good Luck’ without thinking about the robotic voice of Great Fox wishing you good luck before each StarFox 64 mission. Similarly, every time I have to click on a submit button to process a document or order for work I instantly think about Ansem from the Kingdom Hearts 1 final boss battle saying ‘submit’ is his dumb deep voice, as he would say that right before this one stupid cheap grab move that would destroy your health. Listening for that cue has burned that voice deep into my memories. So Allies do you have similar sound bites or voice lines that have stayed with you as well?
