Hey Allies, I have to say I'm quite confused by Arcane's announcement that Redfall will need a persistent online connection even when playing single player. From my recollection this has always been more of a detriment than a benefit to games that have done it in the past. And it makes me wonder has there ever been a game that made this online requirement work for them, where is the precedence? L&R L.E.L (You pronounce my name by saying each letter individually)

Hey Allies, Just watched the State of Play and it just seems like live service games are no longer "the new hotness." Older ones are being shut down and new ones like Suicide Squad are just dead on arrival because of our aversion to the grinding and incompleteness of the "genre." Is there anything a live service game could do in 2023 to keep you interested or is the inherent inability to be self-contained an immediate pass?
