Hi everyone!

I wanted to make this post because there's been a little bit of confusion regarding the latest content packs' access settings, so I wanted to write a bit about it to make sure everyone is on the same page. Also, due to this confusion, I wanted to poll everybody on this change to see if you're OK with it, or you'd rather I just revert to the regular way I've been doing things before the last content packs were posted.

Basically, a few months ago, Patreon enabled selective tier options for posts. What this means is I can create posts that are only visible to a specific tier, be it higher or lower than the one you're donating to.

In my case, this isn't really super useful for most of the regular written and polling posts I make. However, I thought it could be useful for the content packs so:

1) Higher tiers don't waste time and download duplicate material they already have in their current tier pack.

For example: the latest $10 tiers' Shareholder 2000cc pack already contains the 800cc pack bundled in it, so re-downloading the 800cc pack from the $2 supporter post means you're just downloading the same files again. Or, in the case of the Ultra pack for $20 and $50 tier members, downloading any of the lower tier packs would just result in downloading content already included in the Ultra pack, since it contains all the content I produce every month.

2) Reduce email spam, since you shouldn't get notifications to download content you already possess in your current tier's pack. So instead of getting 3 email notifications, for example, if you're in the $20 Board Member's tier, telling you about the 800cc and 2000cc packs (which would possess all the material you're gonna find in the Ultra pack), you get a single email notifying you the Ultra pack is now available to download.

So, for January, I went ahead and did the content pack posts in this manner. I'm sorry if there's been some confusion and some people have felt they suddenly had the rug pulled out from under them and were missing out on content, but trust me, you're not :)

The last thing I want to do is make anyone supporting me feel like they're missing out. On that note, I'm really sorry I didn't talk about this in the monthly briefing, from my end it seemed like a minor tweak and didn't foresee people might feel jilted by it, since higher tiers might see 'locked' posts for lower tiers and feel like they're missing out on something.

So, there's the reasoning for this change in how the content posts are made. However, this isn't set in stone, so like I mentioned earlier I would appreciate if you left a vote in the poll below about how you feel regarding this change.

In the end, I want to make this patreon page as easy to access and as streamlined as possible, but I don't want to make anyone feel they're not getting what they deserve in terms of support/tier, so let me know below!

I for one prefer to see all posts unlocked, just in case there's any mistakes with tagging or whatnot.

Torn on this one. One email is nicer but getting all of them helps to see if anything is missed. Like not getting a certain pack. Even if 1 out of 3 is all I need.

I just assumed this is what you did. I thought it was very smart. But then I have my own Patreon page so I understood this new feature and could deduce what you'd done. I must prefer the selective posting. I got tired of receiving duplicate emails as soon as I figured out the higher tier packs contained all the content from the lower tier packs.
