[DENISE] Plastic Obsessions #005: Polling overview and what's coming up (Patreon)

Hey everyone!

So, we've reached the end of this issue and, whew, it's been quite a ride!

Needless to say, it looks like issue #005 is quite the super-issue, packed with locations, characters, and lots of plot twists, so it'll take some time to produce! My aim is to have renders done between this month and the next, with the full comic layout coming either next month or the month after that. This is, of course, independent of the render work being done for the usual monthly pinups/image sets and Welcome to Unreality, which continue as planned :)

I did want to take some time to go over the polling, since this has been one of our more interactive stories. There was lots of stuff to pick through, and considering the timeline we were working with, there definitely wasn't time to make a full-fledged choose-your-own adventure where you can go back and explore different decision trees, different endings, etc.

So considering the workflow time, I did some (hopefully enjoyable) improv writing, brewing choices one day to the next, with things evolving as each day's choice was polled in. To keep some structure, I built a very rough skeleton daily, with those day's choices.

And, since we're done picking a path for Denise, I figured now would be a great time to share that skeleton with you all, see what other things could've happened to Denise along the way. Of course, each unpicked choice would/could have eventually branched out into a different path, most likely, but let's focus on some spoilers for what was actually available each day ;)

Here goes! (including comments in parenthesis and italics where necessary)

Starting out

Quick breakfast: Denise and Cami walk a few blocks to a nearby coffee shop. Cami (obviously) draws lots of attention. 

(following the 'wild boobs sighting' feel, this could've been a rather funny direction to mess with, since packing Camille into a busy coffee shop would elicit all sorts of different reactions. Additionally, could've explored a bit more perspective from Denise as she sees what's in store for her, attention-wise, after upgrading to beyond-the-norm boobage.)

Skip breakfast: the girls take a walk in the park as they talk about what to do next.

(funny enough, I thought you guys would go with this option, although after writing out the next part, was happy you didn't, since the setting and feel felt much more unique and helped flesh out Cami's character a bit further)

Cami decides: fancy private breakfast at a discrete location

(so initially I had no idea what Camille would pick, but a discrete location felt like the way to go, considering her ultimate aims to work as the Board's influence over Denise. Also, it allows for some extra one-on-one time for Denise and Cami to continue developing that slowly-coming-to-a-boil thing that's going on between them!)

Zoe's call

(I know you guys have been hell-bent on avoiding poor Zoe since Denise's story happened, so I just had to throw this in! She is a really good friend of Denise's, and as a bit of a worrier it felt right to make her really incessant in her trying to get in touch with her friend. Additionally, this is the first true direction changing decision that felt like it would leave a mark upon Denise's entire story line, beyond just this issue)

Ignore Zoe's call, go shopping: denise doesn't speak to zoe, Denise and Cami go to the mall to do some shopping and walking around. Leaves an option for zoe to call denise later.

Hang up call, put phone in DND mode, spa time with cami: Denise and Zoe don't speak, no option to speak later (Denise gets an angry voicemail later in the day). Denise and Cami go sunbathing at the beach before getting massages. 

(oof, sorta glad you guys didn't go for this one. Without any sort of reconciliation before Denise's op, the friends might have ceased to be, or at the very least made for a big need of mending bridges later on)

Pick up the phone and talk to Zoe: Denise and Zoe speak. After a brief standoff, they make up. Option to visit Zoe's store becomes available

After Zoe's call

Shopping at Zoe's lingerie store: cami and denise go shopping at Zoe's.

A little R&R with Cami, Spa and beach: Sunbathing, massages, same as before. Option to visit Zoe's store after remains.

At Zoe's shop

Let Cami pick clothes: Cami picks some super skimpy, sexy dresses and outfits that won't fit her post-op. Gains skimpy club dress for maybe a night out partying later.

Let Zoe pick clothes: Zoe takes Denise's measurements, offers her some sexy choices (not as overt as Cami's), eventually suggests she come back post-op. More time for Denise and Zoe to talk about her upcoming changes.

Let Denise pick her own clothes: Denise goes off on her own, tries on some random outfits she picks out. She doesn't settle on anything, ends up getting some sports bras before calling it.

The night out

The Wintergreen Pachyderm: Cami takes Denise to the infamous strip club, where she encounters some of the feature dancers like Emi, Jessica, and Aimee. Dyna gives her a free lapdance, and over the course of the night bonds with Denise further. Denise becomes friendly with Dyna, as well as her transformation fetishes becoming more pronounced after being exposed to full transformed Emi and Jess.

(Talk about a surprise, I thought you'd all be wanting to get Denise involved in the seedier nightlife right away!)

club Molotov: Rowdy night out at the punk/rock club. Cami is very put off by the atmosphere until Basil shows up. Denise runs into an old ex.

(I initially didn't put this option in, but I liked it because it was an option to show Denise's personality a bit further than just interacting with Camille, and perhaps introduce a few other characters into the cast. After all, she's a pretty rough and tough girl that's now going to have to reconcile that a bit with her desires for an aesthetic focused on plastically exaggerated femininity)

Camille's Mysterious second option: FabPharma plotline where Denise gets inducted into the corporation in some specific role.

(While the initial idea was for the Board to act covertly to influence Denise, I felt exposing her to the underlying truths behind some of the goings on in the overarching storyline would make her fit in more down the line. And, what better place for this than as a mysterious option Camille won't openly disclose? ;) )

Good night's rest: Denise goes home, ready to relax and turn in early. Out of nowhere, Camille shows up at her door with some wine and the intent to seduce her.

(Cami has been a pretty good girl up to this point, keeping her own feelings mostly in check while dealing with Denise. Who knows where this could have led, asides from it being obviously sexy!)

The FabPharma escort

Take his hand: comply with the escort and go as planned to the secret rendezvous.

Slap the escort's hand away, shut door in his face: fight scene. Escort busts the door open with inhuman force, with the goal of restraining Denise into submission. Denise gets some good hits in and appears to be beating him, but the Nereidyl-infused escort proves to be too resillient, knocking her out before abducting her.

(while following the escort was the most obvious choice, I had to throw in the option of Denise, being the firecracker she can be, full out telling the guy to fuck off :D Additionally, could have been a fun reveal of how the FabPharma corporation is starting out its more customized applications of Nereidyl. However, being compliant does have its benefits, as it uncovered a bigger insight into the plots of FabPharma, on a global scale)

Post-speech meeting with Nicholas

Hurry to meet Nicholas: Denise follows Cami, slightly confused but not asking about anything too intently. Meeting with Mr. Montgomery goes as planned. Denise's opinion of Cami remains the same.

Stop Camille, demand an explanation: Denise backs Camille into a corner after leaving the ballroom, demanding an explanation as to how she's connected to FabPharma, and Mr. Montgomery, putting together the pieces since Cami sought her out for training. After some threats and confrontation, Camille buckles and confesses everything. Denise's view of Cami changes drastically, and she enters the meeting in a very confrontational mood.

(while rather out of character, perhaps leaving Denise oblivious to the facts, at least for now, might have been the kinder choice)

The Nereidyl offer

Take the Ultragen, fall in with FabPharma: accept Montgomery's offer (and the ultragen, with all it brings). Camille receives her promised Ultragen reward for bringing in a compliant Denise. Next day op  occurs while Denise is passed out.

Refuse the Vial, stay independent: Denise refuses, things turn sour. After an ominous altercation with Alice attempting to take the girl as an unwilling test subject, Camille intervenes and begs for Nicholas to spare her. Nicholas finally relents and reels Alice back. Camille doesn't receive her Ultragen, and her cover is blown by Nicholas. Denise's view of Cami changes, but considering how she saved her from Alice, can easily reconcile. Next day's op is still on, planned as usual.

(Ohh I was really rooting for the independent route, even though both are pretty fun to work on in the long run ;) )

Well, that about covers it. I have to admit writing on the spot was pretty fun, so I hope you all had your own share of enjoyment from this little 8 step exercise in story advancement!
