I've put a link to an article by the guys behind the channel Every Frame a Painting, which has over a million subscribers.

The long and short of it is that they're stopping making videos, and what's on the channel is all there'll be.  There's only 28 videos, most of them with over 1M views each.

I think this is fascinating, because most channels treat their videos like a job and will constantly be putting out content, much like a real TV channel would.  But here it seems as though this TV channel has closed, and the videos that remain there are like the accessible DVD boxset which you can rewatch.

Some channels, like Egorapter (Arin Hanson from GameGrumps) used to be very active, putting out content here and there to much anticipation, but now it's just an output for music videos by other animators, but isn't a very active channel.

But this is the first time a channel has officially announced, that I've seen, that it is ending.  They're not deleting the channel, they're just not making any more videos from now on.

And it wasn't a financial decision, it was a creative one. They simply grew tired of making these videos, and their format and style drew them to a natural close. So now we have what is, essentially, an art space on YouTube for videos.  This is no longer a channel to watch, but to come back to, a reference catalogue of information on how film scenes are constructed etc.   I can't say that this is something that's common on YouTube, nor something I can imagine they'd anticipate.

What will happen to the channel's subscribers?  As there's no new content, will that suddenly drop?  Will people want to keep the subscription as a book mark to know where to find these videos?

I just really like the idea of having a channel to make a set amount of videos as a set, and bring the production to a close.  A stylised, consistent collection.

Also, it's sad to see a thing end.  But satisfying.

Postmortem: Every Frame a Painting - Tony Zhou - Medium

Every Frame a Painting is officially dead. Nothing sinister; we just decided to end it, rather than keep on making stuff. The existing videos will, of course, remain online. But there won't be any new ones. The following is the script for what was supposed to be the final episode, voiced by both Taylor and myself.
