Hello, Patreon! I wanted to try something completely different!! I'm actively trying to see if I have what it takes to actually animate something!

It's still very early, and I'm taking baby steps, especially seeing as I don't have any decent animation software. I'm literally drawing the individual frames in Sai 2, exporting them individually, and importing them into Windows Movie Maker, then assigning a duration to each frame. It's... far more time-consuming than it should be!! But until I can get my hands on something more efficient, this is the current means of production!

FIRST, here's a short animatic I threw together for a scene that occurs late in the story of Farewell to Cosmos, a Mamabito project that's still early in development, but one that I'm very excited about! This isn't technically "animation", as it's just a proof-of-concept. It's more like an moving storyboard!

You can view this animatic by visiting the link here!

Here we see Renée and Finn waiting at a train station-- or perhaps a bus stop? -- for their ride to arrive. But, it looks like only one of them is boarding..?

SECOND, I also did a much shorter experiment to see if I could draw a base model, and simply draw over top of that to form something resembling actual animation. It's quite small at just five frames long, but it was originally only three; I actually went back in and attempted to do in-between's for this one, which led to a smoother transition between frames!

This moment, I think, is best shared without context, though it does look awfully reminiscent of a scene from this post, don't it~? I would consider extending this animation a bit further, perhaps to have a single tear roll across her cheek, but I don't want to be at this all night!

I would have liked to upload the videos here directly, but Patreon unfortunately doesn't allow me to do that! Until I can find a better alternative, I'll try sharing these as unlisted YouTube videos. I would appreciate it if you wouldn't share these links outside of this page! Please respect that!!

All-in-all, I still think this experiment was a success! We can only go up from here! I hope you're all excited to see what else lies in store! Until next time, take care of yourselves, stay safe, and THANK YOU for your continued support!

A good experimentation! And with time and practice, you’ll do great~
