I am beyond excited for the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons next month!! My wife and I already have our copies pre-ordered where I work, and we're eager to get our hands on it... But I have other things to be doing in the meantime! And one of those is a series of small comics leading up to the game's release, starring my rendition of Villager's Mom, otherwise known as Mamabito!

Mamabito has so far proven to be pretty popular with Animal Crossing fans as well as fans of my art, but beyond the fact that she's obviously a mother to these kids, we don't know that much about her background. That's why I'm doing some small comics ahead of the release of New Horizons, not only to better introduce people to her, but also to shed a little light on her past...

The distant past! Every story has a beginning, after all~!!

Now that I have your attention, I wanted to take a moment to be personal with you all:

Thank you so much for your continued support. I couldn't do what I do now without your help, and I sincerely appreciate you all. I recently lost a very good friend, and it's messed me up a bit emotionally, but I'm trying my best to get back on track.

I'm using these comics as an exercise to get more work done in a timely fashion, because now that I have some room freed up from my plate-- this friend having lined up several commissions from me-- I think it's about time I do what people have been asking me for years.

I'm going to be opening commissions again in the spring. You guys have supported me all this way, and it's only right that you be the first to know. Per my wife's recommendation, there will be only a few slots available, perhaps three or four at the most, and not all of them will be fully-colored grandiose digital paintings, but I could certainly use the funds. Why?

I soon intend to purchase my next big piece of art equipment: a Wacom Cintiq. I've got my eye on either the Pro 13 model or the standard 16" version, whichever I can get the best deal on at the time. Hopefully I can get that up and running in time for summer, so I can get even more work done with a screen tablet instead of this old Intuos I've been using for the last seven years!!

I'll keep you guys posted, and I would sincerely appreciate your feedback with regards to these Mamabito comics, commissions, and all other future goings-on! Until next time!!
