"You're beneath me..." (Patreon)

This one goes back to my days when I was deep in the Steven Universe fandom. For context, the title of this piece references a quote made by Peridot (right), from the episode "Back to the Barn". In this episode, it was confirmed that there are different "classes" of Gems, some having a higher rank than others. Pearls, for example, are usually treated as an accessory, only made to look pretty. But our Pearl (left) insists that she's not like all the others, and a competition is held to show who's the better Gem.

I enjoyed this episode a great deal, and enjoyed the dynamic between these two characters, who hadn't had much opportunity to interact until this point. It got me curious to see something of a "role reversal" between the two, with Peridot truly being "beneath" Pearl. As you can see, I took a more literal approach with the quote in question~
