You could also consider reading the One Piece manga. It's faster to read than to watch. You'll be surprised how quickly you can go through a 1000-plus-chapter manga lol.

My favourite part was question from Kacee "what even is One Piece, it must do something" yea that's the neat part, you guys probably start watching anime and catch up before we even find out. Quite good adaptation not gonna lie, this episode in anime will be like 5-10 eps or more.

Do you know why Luffy is one of the best main character among animes? Because he is an IDIOT and he allow because to make fun at him when not serious moment! Gon never can compared that😂

Dont let those 1100 episode to scare you and affect your judge, reacted it arc by arc and one day you may finish it >< As a long term subs, I think Anthony will love the world building and humor in one piece but hate its sometime too repetitive.

its pretty faithful for the most part, like 80%. The mr 7 fight was never in the manga/anime but is mentioned down the line in an off hand comment that zoro defeated Mr. 7 before meeting luffy. Canon stuff like that is just added on top. I really enjoyed it personally as someone caught up with the anime/manga

So, this whole show captures the first saga of One Piece called the "East Blue" sage, which takes place before Luffy gets to the Grand Line (The Pirate Graveyard). A fun fact is that the entire saga takes place in the course of just a few days in the story time, while the anime makes it seem very long by taking 60+ episodes to cover, the live-action makes it feel more natural, at least in time. In total, One Piece does have over 1000 episodes but not that much time has passed really since Luffy began sailing the sea.

Btw can you guys watch one episode of one piece anime for us?🤣

This is pretty damn good

Hal.

or maybe one anime movie after this live action?

I do think, in fact, starting off from this live-action is not a bad choice at all. The story is more compact, and you get to know the characters. The anime has been on for years, and it has a lot of fillers too, so you'd need to kind of skim through if you just wanted to follow the main storyline. And I loved the adaptation. Just one thing that bothered me, if any, was that they illustrated a clear death, which the manga author is famous for never doing in the manga (I believe because it is for shonen and he believes that it should be). I know reality is important when making a live-action for fantasy stories, especially pirates, so I guess it was necessary in the end.

I just signed up just because I cant wait for the reaction for One Piece!

The anime is very good but remember, this live action is an adaptation of the manga not the anime. The manga has scenes that the anime doesn't (and vice versa), the anime also changed some scenes from the manga. For example, the scene where Luffy stabs himself in the face is in the manga not in the anime, and (I've already watched the YT version of ep.6 so I know you've seen it) the way Zeff lost his leg in the live show is how he lost it in the manga, but they changed it for the anime.

I don't consider One Piece the greatest anime of all time. I consider it the greatest story ever told. The greatest piece of fiction ever created IMHO. That might be a hot take but I've literally been with this series since I was 14, literally half my life (I'm 28 btw) and this franchise means the world to me. I've been away from you guys for awhile but had to reup to watch these with you. This will be my fourth time already. I loved this adaption personally and there are enough deviations that I feel like you will still get something fresh whenever you do eventually watch the anime and when that time comes, I'll be here with you guys the whole way
