#SundayRundown The delivery of 'I thought you were stronger' was perfect, and there's a bit of a double meaning behind it. All season, Angstrom Levy was built up as this seasons Omni-Man. Always hanging in the background, waiting to face off against Mark. When he finally starts throwing punches and is shown to be capable of hurting Mark, you figure the rest of the episode will be the clash of these titans, only for Mark to stop holding back and turn him into a red smear. This shocking both Mark and the audience as we figured this would last longer. The second meaning behind the line however shows that Angstrom won in the end. Just a couple hours ago Mark was facing off against Anissa and saying he was embracing his human side. He was actively refusing to act like his father and not be a mindless killer, something he was dealing with all season. But the moment Angstrom pushed him too far Mark immediately turned into his father, recreating the beat down Omni-Man delivered unto him at the end of season 1. Mark lost control and became the very thing thing others told him he was. Mark literally can't deny he's a Viltrumite anymore, because he knows that at his core he is capable of the same atrocities his father committed. 'I thought you were stronger' is him realizing he isn't as strong as he thought, he can't keep that part of himself contained.

#SundayRundown I love the idea behind Angstrom being used to represent Mark’s character. His mind has been jumbled up with all of the memories of his counterparts and the vast majority of universes show Mark embracing being a Viltrumite. The implication is that even though this Mark is a hero, he still has similar traits to his counterparts when it comes to violence. Mark’s decision at the end represents that Mark still feels that same rage that is emblematic of Viltrumites and now Mark has to wrestle with the fact that deep down he can be just as aggressive as a Viltrumite. Mark beat Angstrom the same way Nolan beat Mark in the Season 1 finale. Essentially the multiverse is used as a way to explore Mark’s character as opposed to fanservice cameos……although those Spider-Man and Batman scenes were fire 😏 Josh Keaton stays playing Spiders (Spider-Man, Black Spider in YJ, and now Agent Spider) and it feels good 😎
