Passcode of the month: "SADLY"
(This passcode should not be shared publicly)

Patch 3 Update (July 4)

  • Fixed an error that causes the following:
    • The player shows a white light instead of the character.
    • Some of the crowd shows T-Pose.
    • Some of the crowd have gone missing.
  • Fixed an error where the portraits don't match with the character's appearance.
  • Adjusted dialog of News and Notice.

 Patch 2 Update (July 3)

  • Fixed an error where skin tints weren't loading correctly.
  • Changed the way the "List of items for sale" updates from "Every hour" to "Everytime you leave the hub place".

Patch 1 Update (July 2)

Hub:

  • Fixed a fatal error where the saved items and money are erased everytime the user enters the start screen.
  • Added option in Pause menu to randomize the update of crowd.
  • Fixed Portrait poses to accommodate S and XL sizes.

Adventure Game:

  • Fixed an error where the sex animation keeps playing after the enemies are done.
  • Added text in the beginning of the adventure to show the level of difficulty.
  • Adjusted the level cap of difficulty from 20 to 30.

Known Issues:

  • Some of the crowd walks beneath the ground in the Forest.
  • Some choices in dialog don't work on certain situations.
  • Crashes on certain situations when playing the Browser Version. (We did our best to fix this, but failed. We're very sorry)

What's New:

The Adventure game is now playable! And not a demo anymore!

The door is now open to take you to a new hub place! The Forest!

You can find the Adventure game by talking to Arrow Wizard.

The island is now accessible and playable!
(Although replaying the "Training" is highly recommended as it was updated to cover new gameplay elements)

And once you collected enough Experience Points, you can adjust your abilities and upgrade your character!
(Accessible by asking Arrow Wizard about "Jobs", then "Upgrades")

So you can finish more jobs and earn more in-game money called "Daddies".

And with enough "Daddies", you can buy parts to customize yourself!
(There aren't much selections at this moment)

Thinking of having a shortcut with the "Daddies"? As Patrons, you can have a bit of free allowance. Simply go to the laptop and talk to those digital cubes.

And one last major feature: "Top View Mode" on Hubs! With this, you can travel quickly to places for convenience!

Everything sounds great!

Unfortunately, we also have a bad news. And a big one too.

But it's better to see this from L'apre, the in-game newscaster.

Play the game and you'll find out what it is.

Screw that.
We have to tell everyone no matter what happens. We're just afraid of saying it. But here goes:

The game's development is ending.
(Not immediately, but after a month or two)

We were devastated ourselves when we encountered a major problem that can halt us from progressing further.
And this problem is when we can't make the Adventure Gameplay work on Browser anymore.
That sounded simple, but there are more reasons.

We decided to put the details inside the game by reading this "Notice".
(Located on the left-side of the room)

This way, everyone can read it and not just the Patrons.

We're very sorry it has come to this path. But we had no choice.

It's sad we can't even add any boss battles anymore. Not even the stories. (And we were looking forward to it)

But it's for the best.

Here are our message from the two of us:

Sausage Roll: (Programmer / Game Design)

I'm sorry I'm disappointing everyone for stopping this game.
But I'm glad we saw the faults of this project before we can make more progress.
When we first started this game, I was looking forward to big things from it.
But as it grew bigger, I'm starting to see the mistakes we made that eventually led to a faulty result.
But personally, a cancellation sounds too much. A rework would have been better. But that's up to Mike.
Thank you for playing!

Mike Inel: (Art / Director)

Thank you for joining us in our adventure to making this game, yadda yadda, bunch of PR stuff that people have already read and heard so many times.
So let's get real. First and foremost, I'm not an expert at making games, but I tried anyway because I love games.
But my mistake was: I thought I can make something big. I thought I was an expert at these. In the end, I can't. And I have to accept that.
I kept on wanting to make the Adventure Time fan game into something great when I shouldn't have. I should have just let it be a little fan game.
But thanks to my "persistence", I kept on going and tried to make it bigger. And here's the result.
The sad part is: I made everyone anticipated a great game. And now there won't be.
I'm very sorry.
I should have kept things simple. Not just for my sake, but for everyone as well.
But thank you everyone for being there. For trying out our hard work. We hope you enjoyed it until the very end.

But not everything is doom and gloom.

Don't forget, there's the adventure game that you can play!
(Only available in Windows version)
We put so much effort into bringing that gameplay a reality!

And as mentioned, we're not abandoning the game immediately.
We're extending the development for a month or two to add and finalize a few stuff.
Clothes, poses, NPCs, and the promised futa. (We're not sure if we can add sounds, though)

So go on and try them out!

Thank you for your patience and support, and we're very sorry.

Not so woot anymore. But thank you for trying your best. :(

Anonymous

It was nice while it lasted, but the result is great anyways :'3

Some Guy

Love y'all still, but sad to see it go :'(

Anonymous

This is quite weird to just cancel the project... You've got enough patrons to hire another experienced developer to help you. Or I am sure someone might even volunteer. Then forget about the browser and just release on windows, that's completely fine. I'd every programming projects was abandoned because of some roadblocks, we would have any... I don't know all the details, but this really feels like a rash decision

Anonymous

Im not sure I fully understand, why is the browser thing an issue? why cant it just be a downloadable game?

Shawn Heatherly

At least we'll have the final build to enjoy, even if it's not going to be continued.

EquestRiley

So, strange cancellation aside, after the next couple builds of Hot Glue, what's next for Mike and Sausage? Can we expect more updates to the Adventure Time game, or just more art and animation?

Anonymous

Good luck to you all in your future endeavors. It's been fun!

Anonymous

Sad new was personally devastating for me because finally some game that have a really good graphic in my opinion. Kudos to Mike and Sausage, you will still have my support for a long time forward.

Anonymous

would some kind of gallery mode be possible? love the animations

Anonymous

To be honest you could drop the browser version and I don't think a lot of people would care that much, I myself play the windows version anyways, I don't really care for browser games. Damn man this news sucks about the cancellation though, I was really looking forward to this game, I felt like the game was headed in a great direction, but I completely understand your choices and decisions, I'm no game developer so I can only imagine how hard it is to make a game, But that being said I really do feel like you make amazing and really fun to play games like AT3D game and HotGlue. Thanks Developers for all the hard work and awesome games!

Anonymous

So is there any other plans? Or its the end on trying to make a game for good?

Anonymous

Had to check the calendar to make sure it wasn't April 1st and unfortunately it isn't... Is there any way we can vote on this? Make a poll or something since a lot of people don't seem to care about the browser anyways.

Anonymous

Well, the bad new are really depressing... The game had so much potential and, at least I, would have prefered a rework that maybe take months without content that a cancellation. Either way, I hope you gain experience from this and don't stop make other games! 2D or offline, doesn't matter, your games are amazing! Just don't let this brings you down. Having said that... If this is gonna be one of the last patches... I'd like to give my feedback for some bugfixes or little changes... First, there's a bug when one of the litte enemies finish their "give love" animation. The enemy banishes but the animation continues to play and the player gets stuck on it (You can still get out of the animation using space, but is not immediatly noticiable) And second... I don't know if it's a bug or a counsciously made change, but the button to "Randomize crew" was replace with "Update" making it so every time there's the same people in the hub, no matter the room or the times you click "Update". It's not gamebreaking, but I feel randomize was better. Hope this can be useful and hope to see your next proyect after finishing this. (EDIT): Forgot to mention... I know you're stopping development, but I really wish you can add a little gallery for the enemies "Love" animations... Is hard to appreciate them when running out of time...

Anonymous

I don't understand why having the game be playable in a web browser is important.

D-tor

The cancellation is confusing. Browser implementation shouldn’t have even been a priority.

Anonymous

oh cool so I have just been giving you money for no reason this entire time? Awesome. And the game is ending for no reason that's also cool. At least give the people who have been paying your rent a reason why you're cancelling the thing they've been giving you money for for the last 2 years?

Anonymous

"Sorry but you guys have been giving us money for no reason, lol! thanks for the money though. Also we are cancelling the game, why you ask? Because. LOL you dumb cunts."

Anonymous

I dunno but to me it sounds like you're cancelling the game because "Ooh I'm Mike Inel and I'm sad at this moment in time so I am going to make all the people who literally contribute to my livelihood suffer because my self doubt gets in the way of my effeciency booooohooooo"

Anonymous

Literally nobody plays games on their browser anymore. Are you stuck in 2008? No one cares if the game is not compatible in browser mode. How do I request a refund for all the money I've given you?

Jase

I always download the latest version, if abandoning the browser version means this game can continue then please, PLEASE. This is something I look forward to every month and you guys should continue!

Anonymous

This is really sad, this game had a lot of potential, the combat was better in the previous adventure time game but with the new update there was a big improvement and it would be better with more work on it. I think making a web version of the game was a mistake, i don't think anyone plays anything on browser nowdays and it was a weird thing to focus a lot on the web version. It was fun while it lasted, i hope you keep making things like this in the future or in some moment you guys decide to keep working on this game

YousukeKuroda

i hope to one day be as good as you Mike to make games I love (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*.✧

Nicki Oliver Christensen

See I don't mind if you decision is final then it's how it is. But if the reason it's getting cancelled is because the browser edition then that's confusing I don't remember the AT game having a non downloadable version :v if that's the biggest reason please elaborate :v

epyon_avenger

If the choice is between continuing without the browser version, or cancelling, I definitely don't mind losing the browser version? If you guys are having trouble figuring out how to distribute the non-browser version, perhaps itch.io would be a possibility? I can understand if the issue is not knowing how to continue without some of the features Gamejolt gave you, but there's probably other things out there. I'm also happy to do some research there if it'd be helpful. If the writing is on the wall though, I appreciate everything y'all put into it so far. It's amazing what has been done with so few people, and an accomplishment I think you can be proud of.

Anonymous

So, I agree with the other comments, I am confused why cancel the project over the browser version? Would it be that difficult just to take it down to a normal adventure game? Maybe set the online up like Dragons dogma does where you have other players "pawns" in the world space and you can "recruit" them or something. Don't get me wrong I have only a very basic knowledge of game design or programming and as a studio the decision is yours but, I believe just releasing a less ambitious version would be better than letting the work and what is actually a pretty dang good game go to waste. Not to mention people who maybe just pledged to you, kinda leaves a sour taste to suddenly be like with no warning welp sucks for you.

Nirikata

Honestly i've only ever played the windows version not the browser version so i dont see why they cant just stop working on the browser version and keep updating the windows version of the game

Anonymous

I just downloaded the windows version and not able to go into the adventure mode, is it where the white "blocks" floating are ? it says under construction at the moment. will i need to redownload ? thank you !

Anonymous

How do you access the forest?

Anonymous

I understand that feeling that the game is spiraling out of control and falling victim to feature creep as the unfortunate reality of comrpomise looms on the horizon, but I think I'd speak for everyone when I say I'd 100% rather you guys hold a poll to assess backers' priorities for the project as a whole and build upon that moving forward. If the project is ACTUALLY being cancelled over the browser version not being a possibility, suffice to say I think that's pretty ridiculous considering I, personally, have never played the game without downloading it first. I would really like to see this game continue development regardless of what form it takes on to continue moving forward.

Anonymous

Having now taken the time to read the detailed reasoning behind the cancellation in the game itself, I believe you guys should publish that as a separate post. I believe that the issues with the game beyond the technical side should be pretty easy to reconcile pending some soul-searching and community outreach. That being said, it would require a lot of patience on our parts to wait it out, to provide feedback, and to understand the compromises that would need to be made in order to bring the game in line, technically speaking. To make it something you see as worth working on and pushing forward with. The baggage you guys mention sounds like it'd be a pretty large task to overcome. I'll be sad to see the game go, but I can at least now understand why.

Anonymous

Sad to hear about the cancellation, but if things aren't working then they aren't working. Are there any plans to add a gallery for enemy animations that you encounter? Would be a nice QoL thing for people who don't want to have to stress about mid-combat faps XD

Anonymous

The adventure mode is accesed by going to the door in the first Hub. That takes you to the forest Hub and then just find the Huntress NPC at the bottom of the Hub.

Anonymous

I used to be a fan of the original adventure time gane mike made. I loved it to death. I inly recently found this, and Ive come to love this even more. And I dont want to see it go. And if the browser version is to blame, I, nor anyone else really, would really mind it being axed if it meant this game survived. You bit more than you could chew, yes, but that dosnt mean you quit eating, you finnish the meal in smaller pieces.

HotGlue

The post has been updated to avoid confusion. The forest is accessible from the room through the door to the right.

GeeSeki

I'm sure Mike and Sausage have both looked at the game and looked at all possible options they have with it going forward. If Sausage believes a rework is possible to omit a browser-playable build and have the game run like any other executable game then I think that should be strongly considered based on how much work and support you have. Even if you means hiring external help doing so. But that is coming from someone who really admires this project's direction and am dreading to see it end. Knowing that this is such a big decision, Mike probably spent countless days or weeks thinking about where to go from here so only he knows what's best for his project, although there still is time to change that decision and make compromises between your vision and the final result. Either way, I'm a big fan of your art and will continue to support in whatever project you work on.

HotGlue

Thank you for your feedback! We'll see what we can do with the "give love" error. The change from Randomize Crowd to Update Crowd was intentional, but we'll see what we can do to add both again.

Yoink

Why not just make it download only?

Anonymous

I'm very sad this game is coming to an end. I share most of the feeling of the comments above so I won't rewrite them. But I know how programming can be frustrating and time consuming. I just hope one day to see an update saying the development will continue.

Anonymous

as others have mentioned, if the browser version isnt working, why not just get rid of it? yeah you'll probably have to hire someone to port the .exe to mac and linux (or maybe ask the fans to do it) but at least the game will stay alive and in regards to things getting bigger than you expected, maybe you could take some time to work on smaller things instead of trying to make an amazing game in one go.

Anonymous

I don't get why you throw away the whole project right away. Getting the S in the tutorial and now being able to explore the whole island kept me ingame for the longest time. You should definetly keep developing the island and the gameplay you currently have. Throw out the online-hubs, the online sharing and the browser-version, build a new offline-hub for the player to upgrade and to access the island and then build upon that. Fix everything, so that you have this as a stable foundation of gameplay and keep adding stuff, like new worlds and more enemy-variants and gameplay mechanics. For the focus of lewd stuff, you could add a 3D-gallery of defeated enemies with all combinations and one-hand controls, available in the player-hub. Later down the line, you could bring the online-hubs back in and add features there, after the offline-gameplay is finished.

Anonymous

On top of that, if you want to keep the player x player animations, you could allow us to create multiple character templates temporarily, until the online-stuff is back in. They'll then roam around in the 3D-Gallery and you can interact with them like you can now with other player characters. To put a character swticher in the game, you could add a cloner-character or machine to the hub, which allows you to create and switch to different templates. That way, the animations would still be used, even when offline and aren't wasted.

Anonymous

Hmm I've started to think the cancellation is actually something bigger since you keep ignoring everyone asking if you'll just get rid of the browser and only respond to people asking bug related questions or game questions. While it sucks you should really just tell everyone the reason because I think it's not really the browser issue you're just leaving us all confused

HotGlue

Because according to our analytics: https://i.imgur.com/d5qogrW.jpg We can't ignore the number of players who play the Browser Version. (Reply edited to simplify explanation) So it's either "Lose half the audience" or "End the production". Both are terrible outcomes. But we can only choose one. There's lots of Pros and Cons to both options. We discussed them a lot. (Even today) And we still settled with "End the production" because one of its pros is giving us a chance to explore more ideas and possibly make a new project. (Hopefully a better, simpler one) (But we prefer not to announce any information about our new ideas so we won't get everyone's hopes up in case we fail again)

Jase

Some very odd bugs I've found...now that I've purchased more skin tone changes (outside of bikini), those changes to fur or other bikini types will not save properly. I also lost the bunny ears from achieving S rank in Training Mode from last patch? WTH?

HotGlue

We were informed about this fatal glitch as well, and we're doing our best to release a patch as soon as possible. We're very sorry.

Anonymous

Would you consider releasing the source code and assets? That could allow someone with the skills and interest to take what you have built and continue development in some fashion.

xPreatorianx

That really sucks. But I'm really worried anything you guys may tackle may end up like this. Why? Honestly? Mike has a habit of getting really ambitious then either due to his skills, or burn out, he cancels a project or simply moves on and leaves it to wither. He's EXTREMELY talented, so please don't take this as me bashing him. But honestly, if you guys decide to take another crack at this with a different game, PLEASE hire a more experienced lead. Mike is amazing, don't get me wrong. But tends to get way too ambitious in his projects and his "portfolio" shows. Games, projects dropped, and nothing really done to completion. He's good at art, not realizing what it takes for game dev. His prior Adventure times game is proof of that. Amazing game, but I think he realized he was too ambitious. Now this one is suffering from the same fate. You really need a lead that knows the industry. Pick an engine that is sustainable. Put a little money towards it. (Sorry, but a browser based game is never going to be amazing. Especially with the art quality you guys are putting out.) Again, and I want to make sure this is clear, I'm not saying anything bad about Mike. But given I don't know the history of anyone else involved, I have to personally conclude (and I could be wrong) Mike got too ambitious and the game suffered for it. He's awesome, but you guys really need a more experienced lead to tackle a full game. Likewise, a more experienced programmer. Have mike dedicated to the art and art only. Not director, not programmer. His strengths are way more in art then anything else. He's a decent programmer, but for a commercial project, you need someone with a lot more experience. If you guys decide to create another game, please find or hire two other people. (Director, and dedicated programmer.) Make sure they have proper experience. Research the engines/platforms used. Otherwise, you are going to break this news again with another project down the line. And as a result, people won't be willing to help fund you.

xPreatorianx

Sorry for double post : I support you guys, but honestly going forward, I'll be more hesitant to throw my money at it. I know this time it was just a $1. But going forward if you guys announce something, especially if it costs more, I won't become a patreon, subscriber, donor, etc. Unless there's some one more experienced leading the show. If you want to create a full game. Not a mini project. You need a professional. Not a hobbyist. And honestly, Mike is a hobbyist. At least in game design. I'm not sure his background or professional history. But his projects speak enough that he's an extremely talented guy, with some very amazing skills and uses those to create hobby projects. Not commercial ventures. Good luck to you all, I will be watching and enthusiast if another project is announced. I'll just be skeptical and wait on the side lines till it reaches a higher state then this project. Now I will say, if anything, you guys should redo this game, just hire someone more experienced on leading and directing the project. PLAY to your strengths. This game could easily be realized in it's full potential. You bit off more then you could chew. Learn from it, and as someone else said, continue with it. Just start from scratch in a suitable engine, and hire a proper lead. Someone known for getting projects released to the consumers. In it's complete form.

Anonymous

I'm suuporting this project from the very beginning and I have NEVER EVER played this game as Browser Game! Just stop making it browse-compatible! Make it normal PC game! Sry, I just can't fully express my bewilderment... It's like the giant who broke his leg on a straw.

Gregorius Daneli

Question about the new patch: the notes are rather sparse, but I noticed that some of the items (most notably the tan and tint items for purchase) don't seem to want to work with the character, even with the tint level raised to maximum contrast. They also don't seem to like staying in the user's inventory, since I've gotten at least three different iterations of the Bikini and Short Fur tints, none of which carry over into the hub. I know it's a relatively minor issue compared to some of the things that plagued the game pre-patch (though were kind of hilarious to see, on the off chance that they did happen), and I don't fully expect anything to be done about it immediately... but still, I can't say I don't enjoy the prospect of wandering around with bikini-tanned XL tits. What I can personally say I don't enjoy, however, is the periodic cycling of items from the Seller—I would personally much prefer either all items be sold from the onset, or a fee to restock the Seller's wares immediately to bypass the hour-long wait for new items. It's a shame about the project, but it is what it is... it WOULD be nice to force everyone to convert to a downloadable-only model, but if current events are any indication, people can be woefully stubborn and resistant to change.

HotGlue

Patch 2 has been released to fix the skin tint not loading properly. We also changed the times the list of items update from "every hour" to "everytime you leave the hub place".

Anonymous

I'm in total agreement with other comments, I would move to scrap the browser functionality and move to a normal .exe game type if that is the major issue. I would love to see further development.

Axel

Probably not looking at more responses currently, which I could not really fault you for, however I'd like to open-air ask if you'll ever possibly use the base game's framework--a lot of effort with immediately tangible results--to use with a smaller game, perhaps with something akin to preset code generation for those people who put a lot of effort into creating their dolls and wanting still to share them? Perhaps it's overstated to say that I know this isn't the end, however sad the current prospects may seem, but I really do feel like there's more to be had here. Though, on that note, I was hoping there would kind of essentially be a gallery/creation mode where you can just have a set number of dolls and size/form/dress them the way you want. Just my personal thoughts.

Hello everyone, I’m not sure where to ask, but I was hoping to get some tips on fighting the large bruiser style enemies

How do you get S ranking on training? I've gotten S ranking in all but... Enemies Defeated & Enemies made Love to.. they both give me a C+ for defeating and making love to equal #'s!?!?!

After you beat all the directed enemies lets call em', make your way back to the beginning and you'll find more enemies
