If you're not sure what this project is, then refer to this big post from last month where I go into a heckuva lot more detail. Just make sure you download the version from this post over here and not the one over there because... y'know, that's not the latest version.

Anyway! I am sure that the vast majority of you know what's going on here, so, here's the latest update to The Hungry House. Last month I said that I'd get about 80% of the content I've planned into the game by the end of the month and I've been pretty successful at that! There's a lot of new stuff to see and hear and experience. Brand new scenes, vore audio, some really cool animations, probably the neatest visual stuff I've ever done... heck, there's even a little music!

Let's get into the change log. Note that I have deliberately given a fair bit less detail here than I usually do. Why? Spoilers, of course!

HOUSE 1

Three new scenes have been added to the first house. These are:

- Oral Vore (eaten by a vixen bartender)
-
Anal Vore (stuffed up a vixen's butt on your smoke break)
-
Unbirth (used as a dildo by a scorned vixen)

I can't remember how long these scenes are - I think they're all between two thousand and three thousand words or so... maybe a little longer? They were ported over from the original Quest release, but they've been touched up a fair bit and...

...
now they all all contain vore audio loops (as always, provided by the glorious CuttleScuttle) as well as voreish backgrounds. In the case of the backgrounds, they all ended up looking a bit dim after I ported them over for Quest, so I think next month when I'm doing the final clean up on this project I'll likely replace them with something a bit more impressive.

If you want to know how to get to these scenes, then I've attached a guide to this post on how to access this new content. I don't want to say how in the patch notes in case people want to poke around a bit.

I know I always say this but because the guy is in need of infinite praise the audio loops are very good and transform these scenes into way more immersive experiences than they were before. I'll be doing my best to get more stuff from him, both for this game and for future titles.

BECK

Beck has been added to the game. Beck is a male white wolf. Like Kyobi, he's also one of my characters or OCs or whatever you wanna call 'em. You can see his ref sheet here if ya'd like to get a better look at him!

His content is quite surprising and features some of the best visual work I've probably ever done.

Why so vague? Well, it wouldn't be very surprising if I talked a whole bunch about it...

But I will give a general overview. Beck has two vore scenes - which are cock vore and oral vore. He also adds a bunch of lore to the game and a couple of new and funky-looking areas as well because not only can he eat but he can also give you a fun little quest that sends you on a fun little journey.

There will be a little more added to this next month before the final release on itch.io... just a few things to flesh it out and make it a little more fun. In the interest of getting this thing finished next month so I can move onto other things, though, Beck won't be getting any additional vore scenes... probably.

These scenes are both around two thousand words long and they are both pretty spicy I think. With that being said, though, they are missing voreish backgrounds and voreish audio. Voreish backgrounds will almost certainly be added next month. Voreish audio will not, because I'll need to commission CuttleScuttle for that sometime after the game's release as kind of a post-release bonus patch or something. It will be added at some point though - hopefully before the end of the year.

Even without voreish audio and backgrounds, though, this content is very much worth your time. I put a ton of effort into making it visually distinct to other things in the game. It's a little creepy and there is also a slight very minor jumpscare. The game had to have at least one I think.

A guide on how to access this content is included alongside the post.

FOX

A friendly fox has been added to the game.

The fox is very friendly. The fox offers a safe space. They won't eat you, but they might make you feel a little better about everything.

This fox can be found when you most need them, and they offer a fair bit of dialogue when revisited. Play this month's new content and you'll find them soon enough.

MISC

A soul vore scene has been added on the way to Beck's content. If you absolutely want to avoid soul vore then it's really easy to click through if you don't want to read it.

That's it!

This month I have worn many hats in the creation of this. Writer, programmer, sound artist, visual artist, 3D modeller, 3D animator, bug tester... the list goes on, really. As a result, it's been one of my quietest months ever on here. I do apologize that there has been a general lack of commissions and stories and all that good stuff, but I had the choice between making The Hungry House extra-special or, well, cutting a couple of the things that I wanted to do so that I could spend more time writing other things.

In the end I decided to double down on development time for The Hungry House and do all of the things that I wanted to do rather than leave unfinished business or cut things. I'm glad that I did this and I hope that when you play it and see all of the weird new stuff and the vore content and all of that you'll agree that it was the right choice to make. Not only did spending the time here to learn and practice some new visual stuff make this game more impressive, but it will also make my next game more impressive too.

If you don't, then, that's okay too. This project is coming to an end around the middle of October, so... just a couple of weeks. The end is in sight! After that, my focus will turn back to commissions and A Tiny Furry In A Huge World until the end of the year. After that, well... there's a poll ongoing about that right now actually. You should check it out if you haven't already.

What's coming next month for The Hungry House? Mostly finishing touches and improvements. Some of the transitions between cutscenes/setpieces are a little rough right now and I'd like to look at that. I'd also like to add vore backgrounds for Beck and improve the vore backgrounds already in game. I also have a bunch of sounds left on the floor that need tossing in! In terms of new content, there will be a couple more soul vore scenes added as well as a paw worship scene... and maybe a couple of other little surprises?

That'll all be coming around the middle of next month! I don't have a solid date for this, but... let's say before the 20th.

I have more that I'd like to say in regards to... everything... but I think I'll leave it for the beginning of next month post. For once I feel proud enough of everything to not ramble too much...

So here's some quick notes instead.

NOTES: If the game crashes/doesn't boot then this is probably an issue with your save file from last month. This SHOULDN'T happen but just in case it does... delete your save file in C:\users\(whatever your username is)\AppData\Local\HungryHouse. Again, it SHOULD work, but just in case it doesn't...

For Android users, you will PROBABLY have to uninstall last month's version before installing the new one. This isn't my fault, it's just an Android thing. I'm not sure what this will do to your save data. If you have any problems, let me know in the comments.

This probably goes without saying, but just in case you're unfamiliar with file formats: apk is the one you want if you're wanting to play on Android, and the .zip is the one you want if you're playing on Windows.

On Android Google will say the file may be suspicious. It is not. When you try to launch it on Windows, Windows Defender may well say something along the lines of it's an executable not commonly run so it might be fishy. It's not, it's just an brand new vore game and you guys are the only ones playing it right now.

EDITED IN FOLLOW UP NOTE: Apparently Patreon is making the .apk a zip for some reason. Patreon has done this in the past. Patreon will continue to do this, probably. Sadly there is nothing I can do about it.

The solution is to download the file anyway. Patreon will download it as HungryHouse v0.3 dot apk dot zip because Patreon is silly. When the file is done downloading, remove the .zip in the filename by renaming the file to HungryHouse v0.3.apk. It should then work fine!

Given that this is a thing that keeps happening... for some reason... I am probably going to look into alternative methods of sharing files next month, because they're getting kinda big now (the latest build of The Hungry House is 153MB, which is larger than anything I've ever compiled before) and Patreon is taking five minutes to upload them and renaming the file on download without consent. Maybe I'll get a MEGA or whatever it is the cool kids are using these days.

KNOWN BUGS:

The golden egg will crash the game unless you use it on anything but one of the figments, so... make sure you use it on one of the figments rather than anything else. I'll get a fix out for this soon, but I want to give it a day or two to see if anything else comes up.

Enjoy The Hungry House, and I hope you all have a lovely weekend! I'll see you at the beginning of October.
