I'm taking a break from "Nano-Shift" (just a short one!) but I couldn't resist rendering a few high-res images of "Jae 3.0" -- posing in something a little more comfortable, of course!

Let me know what you think of her new look, or any other comments you'd like to share about the "Nano-Shift" storyline so far.

I really like the outfit, but what I really love is Jae having the young woman in an older woman’s body aesthetic. I think the comic Shazam, the movie 13 Going On 30, the comic book Sensational She-Hulk, and the anime Creamy Mami surely make me think of how Jae got to be. This 3.0 version of her is the most definitive one, because it aligns to the original plans for her as a Korean futurist, but it became so much better with the spunky personality and optimism to create new things that are unrealistic to the human brain.

Dam, seriously. Awesome job on this!

Wicked looking woman. Powerful enough to keep the idiot boys away with a single glance, or a poke in the chest with those nails of hers.

Yeah...I also like that "younger person in older body" aesthetic. Now that Jae's power has grown to let her assume any form she wants, she's started to unlock dimensions of herself that she might never have discovered.

Wow. That pose. The build. The hand. Just wow. She looks amazing :)

Functionally does she maintain a metal/machine skeletal structure in each body form, modified for her needs, as she demonstrated to Kenz? Or is she more one solid (liquid?) mass of nanobots that selectively chooses to reveal what she desires when she desires it? I doubt she’s really got much left in the organic realm given the rapid escalation in her powers and integration with the bots, so perhaps a pinch-EMP may hurt more now than when Kenz used one earlier — would her entire form collapse into a formless silver puddle? Would just the outside metal sheathe drop away, revealing a sparking, twitching metal skeleton, vulnerable to any attempts at direct interface and programming? Love the series so far!

Great questions. My vision has been that her nanobots are sophisticated enough that they can perfectly replicate whatever they are commanded to become, so that when she is in human form she effectively is human and would read as such to any scanner that isn't specifically programmed to look for nanobots ... but she can instantly assume any other form, including her liquid-like state, in which she is essentially just a matrix of undifferentiated nanobots.

I’m still unsure how I feel about her cybernetic eye. Can Jae conceal it to look normal to replicate her 3.0 eye, when she takes off her shades, so no one can know (besides her friends) what she really is or what she’s made up of?

Of course she can—she can turn herself into mechanical, biological, and in-between. But it’s convenient for her to have the scanning abilities of a cybernetic eye—and moreover, it’s not as though cybernetic implants are unheard-of in the world they live in. To a casual observer, she just looks like a sexy woman with an eye implant.
