Hi, it's Sunday and that means it's update time.
Stuff done this week Final polishing, Rendering, Sculpting and Fluffing.
Monday was final polish on the animation (redid the fluid sim, got the yeens toes and leg movement a bit nicer)
Sculpting, this is the one things that can be done whilst the render happens so I've done quite a bit of that, refining future characters and trying out ideas. The reason it was important to let it render for a few more hours during the day is if only ran overnight the render was due to finish almost exactly by next Sunday's progress repot. That left no room to do any corrections with associated renders and this also means I have a bit of time to do editing without rushing.
Currently at 1035 frames out of approx 1450
The other thing I've done is this, working on a character that has not really had much love, from the rocky start to going back to the drawing board several times he's finally looking nice and fluffy. ^_^ Have done work on the fur, the rig, still need to do work on blendshapes, etc... I really wanted to see him with the new fur system so that was done a lot sooner than other characters (hence needing to go back and do more work in other places)
Whilst working on the Raccoon fur system I've implemented a few new things from tweaking the shading to add control over fur color variations to adding even more parameters I can fiddle with to add a bit of frizz to the fur itself. These improvements will be added to all other characters.
Circling back around I've also doing some updates to the fox with all I've learned, fixing stuff up, improving where I can. this is normally lots of small tedious tasks (eyelids are very time consuming) and is mid process at the moment so can't really show anything off.
This coming week is going to be finishing the SIEO p3 render, doing whatever fixes (if needed) and editing. I'm also going to look to work on more animation for the fox and otter (and if I've time I'll get that rendered too)
Edit:
Thanks to the idea from N O in the comments. I've decided to look at adding in higher compression versions as single files. Choices will now be:
1. Low compression, the highest quality (will be split into zips if too big for pateron)
2. High compression (small file size, lower quality)
3. x265 small file size and high quality but might not be supported on all devices.
Large files are provided as split zip files. If all parts (.zip, .z01, .z02, .z03, .z04 ...) are downloaded to the same location then opening the .zip should have it act like a normal .zip file.
If you have any issue with spit zip files and want the highest quality version please message me directly and I'll sort out alternative download means via DM and I'll be sending links out to those who've requested one previously.
