Ranting about workflow updates - 

I have found some seriously awesome tools this week that will make my model upgrading go sooo much faster, Im therefore considering also making a little update to my nelf female when I start importing her. The belf update took a few hours, but it turned out really nicely, so hoping to fix the nelf in the same ways.

With the new tools I should be able to kinda re-use the body shapes ive already made for the nelf though, and maybe even the skin weights, which I had to redo for the belf. Crossing my fingers these updates go smoothly and I am anticipating and hoping they will go even faster :D Quicker workflows make me happy! Maya although its been frustrating, is really starting to enhance my workflow in so many ways.

Ive also found a tool in maya called animation layers, which lets one animate as if youre drawing on photoshop layers, which means I might be able to soon start introducing a bit more varied thrusting on my animations, without it adding 2-3 more days of animating :D I cant wait to try these either.

Ive also written a little script that combines a few tools ive been using combined, which spares me some more time + ive updated my maya to a far more stable maya version, and cleaned some of the inbuilt maya plugins that were crashing me. Literally have not crashed once in the past 2 days that ive been using this new maya version, so im thrilled.

Last but not least I found out that my renderer version was bugged in maya, when rendering animations, so it turns out the bug i was fighting for 2 days on my latest animation was not me or maya, but the renderer, so ive updated that one also, although it cost a bit, but I am so happy with the renderer that It is worth it :D
