Been thinking and playing much of the TCG lately! Quick recap time.

After working (💦) on the card frame (you can notice the difference above, the new cards will have a chunkier frame surrounding text and art) and likely reaching a good result (I'll report when new cards get here), I'm now tweaking the rules and adjusting some of the cards to ensure a nice experience is possible just with the 48 cards of the Base Set.

More than once while playtesting I've thought "Oh, this could be balanced easily by a new card doing this and that...", but I'd rather keep going at it without adding any new card, there will be time for that. No easy way out. Working with a smaller number of parts, and making those parts work around a solid structure, will make adding new cards that don't destroy the balance later on much easier (IMO, first time doing this~).

I like how cards have no cost of their own, while using your hand as the "energy" to fuel your actions, sets this TCG apart from ones I'm more familiar with (PKMN, MTG...), but it also means I'm on my own, can't really copy anything already successful!

I've already got in mind many new mechanics that will be introduced later on (like Battlefield cards, a Tavern-themed expansion, a Solo mode, and mechanics tied to certain Princesses like "Revive" or "Swarm", it'll be fun)

We've hit a bit of a slump with card art now that we've reached Dragon Princess I, aka Charizard, we have to nail this one, it'll take the needed number of tries 🔥
