I finally took the step!

I hope people will follow this Patreon and will pledge for it, even if it's just a tiny bit.

It wasn't easy to decide on pledge prices & rewards, so I hope I made the right choices: small pledges for each drawing... That way, if I don't draw much, that won't be much... Normally that should transform me into a drawing machine, Hahahaha!! But don't hesitate to comment if you think I could have done better.

As you can see, if you pledge $5 or more, you can participate in an art raffle: each month (I will start in early march), I'll randomly pick 5 of the pledgers that will then propose a concept idea. After a one week long poll, the winner will get his idea drawn!

So get ready!

I have to say, the Patreon website is relatively easy to use, though i'm still wondering if it have native poll tools or if I can add a wallpaper to my Patreon page.

Well, I hope I'll be worthy of your pledges!

EDIT: Looks like Art-Raffle aren't authorized because of Gambling states law in the USA... *sigh*

I stupidly think that changing the name might maybe do the trick? I

mean... the point is that $5 pledgers propose ideas and the most voted

one win. It's just I have to select only a few pledgers, otherwise

each idea would get only one vote: their own (+some $1 pledgers)... talk about a big victory

Please comment if you got better ideas about what I can give to you gives who are doing a $5 pledge, as I can't draw many pics per month and I want to make it worthwile for you to pledge.

Awesome! It's great to see you on here, and I can't wait to see more of your fantastic work. As a bit of a heads up, I've been hearing, that Patreon really doesn't like people using "raffles" as a reward(something about it technically being "gambling") and they have been really cracking down on it lately. So you may just want to re-word your $5 tier. I imagine it's mostly fine the way it is, you just have to make it seem like its less of a "raffle" somehow...

When you first announced your idea for a monthly raffle-poll I was pretty skeptical, and I should probably mention why. As Darth Cabbage mentioned, Patreon really doesn't like this sort of thing because it's technically a form of gambling. That would normally be enough by itself, but to be honest it's not even what first occurred to me. Let me explain. I've been a Patron to another artist for some time, and they run a monthly poll, it goes all-month and anyone at the $10 tier can give options, while anyone at a lower tier can vote. Generally the average has been 3 poll options per month, and about 20 votes, which is out of about 6 people who can submit options and about 60 people who can vote. So you may encounter some very real problems with participation. Plus from a conceptual standpoint, it's kind of weird to have TWO hoops to jump through, needing to be selected to submit to a poll THEN having to win the poll itself. I'd suggest simplifying the idea to a simple poll. If you like the raffle idea, maybe include one of those as well, where everyone (of a given tier?) can submit suggestions and you pull one at random and draw it if it meets your approval, no poll involved. Although that would mean more work for you. Maybe toss one or the other in as a bonus goal at a certain total pledge amount?

Damn... you can tell I'm just a newbie there! >_< I did it this way because I wanted more potential winners over only one... *sigh*... the $5 pledge suggestion system does seem to work indeed. So... each month I pick one suggestion over all the ones processed by the $5 pledgers ? Wouldn't it mean that it's too much linked to my personnal preferences? Damn, so hard to choose...

Well, if you're referring to my suggestions. I was suggesting you just have a simple poll, where people submit ideas, then vote on which they like. You could split up 'ideas' and 'vote' into different pledge tiers if you wanted to, and reject ideas that you don't like when you're proposed. You could also do a straight-up no-vote 'random monthly winner' situation where everyone, possibly of a specific pledge tier, can submit an idea and then you roll an n-dimensional dice to decide which to do. You could even do both if you wanted to. Let's see if I can't outline this a bit more clearly. Poll Idea Pledge Level $10 "Every month there's a poll for a monthly consensus picture. And at the $10 level, you get to submit the suggestions to vote on!" Pledge Level $3 "Every month there's a poll for a consensus picture, and at the $3 tier you get a vote on what picture you want produced!" Random Winner (You could probably sneak the core idea of this by, just by not referring to it as a raffle or gamble) Pledge Level $5 "Every month you get to submit a suggestion for a picture. At the end of the month, I take all the suggestions and pick a winner at random!"

Maybe collect, and then do something on the mother site. Maybe make a post there, and have them vote there what you should do. Have this mainly be a donation board.
