Weekly Update - .116a - Kayla/Rachel Complete - 6/9/21 (Patreon)

Alright, sorry for the delay on that one, but hopefully when you play it, you'll see why it took so long. There's routes for Kayla by herself if Rachel died, if you made Kayla your lover previously, and whether or not you performed certain scenes in Math class during the PREVIOUS Friday (one of them involves the pencil during the invisibility route -- set $kayla_sus_you to true if you just want to set the variable manually instead of earning it ).

The next release will be on Saturday and cover the final dinner sequence of the week with Wilson, Hill, and Maywood. Don't worry about missing it during your runs, these things might show up this 'Friday', but that won't be the only time they're available.

Also, just to let everyone know, my birthday is next week, so after Saturday's release, the next one will be on June 18th. EDIT: The Saturday release is going to take a bit longer, so I'm postponing it to tomorrow (Sunday) night. The next release afterwards will still be on June 18th as previously mentioned.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1) Download the .107b ALL FILES pack from this post if you need a clean install.  

Step 2) Unzip this pack to create your College Daze folder. From now on, you'll extract future updates and place them in this same folder, overwriting the previous content to update it.     

Step 3) If necessary, download an update only pack like the one in this post.

Step 4) Unzip the update only pack and copy the contents of it.   

Step 5) Paste these contents in your original 'all files' folder. Your computer will ask if you want to overwrite the existing HTML file. Click yes.    

Step 6) If you did everything right, you should have an HTML file that you click to run the game and an Images folder that has folders from 'aug02' to '107'. If you find an 'Images' folder inside your 'Images' folder, that means you pasted it incorrectly and need to re-copy and paste stuff.     

Step 7) When you run the game, the images and text should display as normal. If they don't, send me a message and we can try to figure this out further.

umm, i copied and pasted the new files over my old files in my game directory and errr i found all my saves had disappeared. Is there any way to salvage my old saves? i do not have a habit of saving them to disk and have been using that save game since way back from 0.56 and have been regularly updating them this way with no problems until today. I really don't want to have to restart :(

I'm sorry bud, but I highly HIGHLY recommend saving to disk in the future. There are a lot of things that can wipe out your game saves, including clearing your browser cache and stuff. Saving to disk is 100% safe unless you manually delete them.

Saving to disk is the only way to guarantee your saves aren't lost, sucks that your save was lost but maybe with all the new updates you can save yourself an action this time around.

It's basically one of the possible fail paths when you confront Titus. Alternatively, you can set $rachel_dead to true if you want to see that content.

what I found works, if you're than interested On the catwalk, before the fight with Titus, you get 6 buttons to push I push buttons 3 or 4, or a combination using 3 or 4 and another set combination of 1/2 and 3/4, or 3/4 and 5/6

How do u turn Kayla into your lover, what are the prerequisities for that?

You can do it with the latest update as the culmination of that event, or you can do it earlier during one of her dinner scenes. Someone else will have to help you with the specifics or you can ask the Discord.

Haha thanks, I still have one more update for you all before I start really celebrating it :). EDIT: That update is going to take a while still, so I've updated the weekly update post to change the date to tomorrow night.

Quick question about this (fantasticly written, as always) update - neither Kayla nor Rachel seem to have any dialogue lines for if an eternal contract is in place for one or both of them. Did I break the game by cheating shamelessly with the tt-mods there? Being subject of an EC should be a factor for the pact they suggest; I think maybe even expand the range of the contract as part of the agreement between the two of them and the player...?

I'm pretty sure there should be some minor dialogue changes if a contract is active, but it won't radically alter the alliance itself. You'll have more opportunities to dig into the specifics of it in the future (such as convincing them to betray Karen), at which point the contract will play a much bigger role. This is more of an intro for it, and future scenes will allow you to flesh it out more.
