Even More Game Dev Stuff (Patreon)

Heya

Just did a ton of work for the game project I'm working on with my friends so I decided to share some with you guys :)

So today I was sorting out the unlockable color palettes that you can assign to each character's uniform. We decided that it would be kinda like in Kirby Amazing mirror, where you get each color scheme separately (instead of being able to manually set each color) so I came up with this initial color list that you can find at the top of this post

We're still tweaking it, we may remove some specific combinations and add many others so feel free to give me some feedback on how I should tweak this! The idea is that each palette would be unlocked by complete challenges during gameplay, as to incentivize players to try out certain playstyles and party compositions

I'm also currently working on some "living pigments":

Those will be special animated ones unlocked after certain special milestones (think Rainbow/Deviant pigments of the Monster Hunter series). They need a bit more work still, the rainbow effect needs to be slowed down with more transitional frames, the flashing one needs to have a "fade to white" variation (also including them for all base colors) and a couple of handpicked ones like flaming/blue flames/balefire and any others we can think about

That's about it for now. It took quite a handful of hours to make these manually but I think it's gonna be worth in the end due to how much customization it's gonna add to your characters in the game (oh yeah, I think I forgot to mention that you'll be able to set those colors to each individual party member)

And just so you don't see that I've forgotten about you guys, here's a piece of concept art for Super Hunk Hotel. As I was trying to decided on how incubus should look

Still very very WIP, but it's better than nothing I feel :P
