About Piracy (Patreon)

I really don't like talking about this topic, so I'll try to keep it short:

Some people reached out to me pointing me towards instances where my work is being shared without my explicit consent.

For digital content it is almost impossible to prevent piracy and I see no reason to implement any additional measures of protection since that would just make things more inconvenient for my supporters. My only concern is that my supporters might feel unfairly treated.

Unfortunately we are living in a time where almost everything is monetized, sometimes in predatory and harmful ways. Piracy is sometimes the only way for someone to afford using software or other digital products that they absolutely need to survive and/or continue their work.

However, I do not support or encourage any form of piracy, especially not against smaller creators. (Even if those creators are working in a legal gray area themselves.)

I trust all of you and I appreciate your ongoing support!
I do not wish to spread any hate or disparity and I don't want to crusade against any websites or forums or the people that use them.
