We're getting closer to Last Survivor Episode III's ending, but the whole series has so many possible endings that it's incredibly hard to come up with one single conclussion that pleases everybody!

Said so, the final episode will probably be a "choose your path" interactive Flash Game project: a visual novel game/interactive story... or an interactive comic, both with multiple endings and sexy scenes that will change depending of your choices, maybe with one or two interactive minigames. What option sounds more interesting? Just for reference.

--

A) Visual Novel/Interactive Story (Like your average Visual Novel game: Characters have conversations like in a VN or a RPG, and then you choose what to say or how to proceed when the moment arrives, which leads to different full-screen scenes and different conclussions. NOTE: This option is better to focus on the story's development through conversations, allowing more explanation about certain details in the plot. It won't have voice acting atm.

B) Interactive comic: A Flash game comic with buttons to navigate through every pop-up frame (some of them would be full-screen frames) and pages. There are certain parts where you will have to choose how to proceed or what to say, and the comic will follow a different path depending of your choices, showing a different pages or different frames that lead to alternative situations and endings. Updates-wise, it would be like two-three pages per month, similar to how I have been updating my current comic.

--

Atm, the story won't give you a lot of freedom to visit different places (but that might change) and it isn't supposed to be long. Instead, the dynamism and potential of the gameplay will reside on the different choices that will lead to drastically different conclussions like the Breeders' victory, someone's death, happy endings and so many other possibilities.

Both projects will have an unlockable gallery (which lets you unlock pictures as you see them them through the story and multiple endings, giving the game replayability potential) and maybe even some kind of "wiki" (that one Vodka checks so often), but I'm not 100% sure about this one.

Please, check the picture attached in this post. If you have questions or something, feel free to ask!

B Sound awesome

Al Truist

B is the way to go I think

DM2099

B, but that one seems considerably more effort than A.

Ell Superguest

Before I vote, would you describe what level of Flash development you are at? It seems like B would be a more 'fun' choice for the patrons, but if it turns out to be a very challenging and time consuming for you, you might want to see if a third party could do some of the technical gruntwork.

B, because I know a few games that can compete with the game that you would creating if a Interactive comic. Not many but, still as of my opinion.

Lizarman

B, interactive comic

Erz

B :)

Fenoxo Fenfen

A. B seems overambitious and may slow its release to an unacceptable degree.

This is a tough decision, if the VN had voice acting I might go for that but I have to say B is safer and easier

Asterion Del Toro

B. I've seen numerous porn artists crash and burn after deciding to move from their established genre into making video games. It never looks like it'd be so much work, but six months later they're wrestling with the minutia of coding up items and enemies and wrangling game balance issues, all the while learning that Ren'Py or RPGMaker or what-have-you isn't as straightforward or user friendly as it first appears. Even given modest ambitions, you're essentially committing to put the work you enjoy on hold to deal with a whole lot of other work that you not only don't enjoy, but you have no experience with.

I have years of experience at flash/actionscript myself and I have done little experiments for stuff like this before, just to make sure I'm ready to work on something like these projects.

To be completely honest here, I think you can do it Xpray. I prefer A and if you're willing I am hoping. I feel you've done your research and understand what your choice entails, otherwise I'd say you wouldn't go as far as putting it up on patreon.com as a choice otherwise. I'll believe you can do it.

Blockhead

xpray, not only are you talented but you are a genius, BRILLIANT, and I am 100% sure that if you wanted you could make a full-blown 5 hour plus RPG game, exotic style. I don't care or prefer A or B I just know that whatever you do it will be awesome

Xpray best Pray. A please.

Fake Name

A. And if you decide to use Ren'Py, I'd be happy to help with any python questions.

Spookems

I vote A.

Stephen Smith

To be honest, I have no idea. I can say I look forward to the end result, whatever it is!

Several people have already brought up the point I was thinking of: that doing a game will take a lot more work and could have multiple difficulties that wouldn't be present with the interactive comic. That being said, if you've done your research and honestly think you're up for it, go for it! Just keep in mind that it may be more work for the game than you initially expect. I'll love either option :D

Fonkirby

I can't really pick, both sound fine to me. As long as there are different endings for what different people would want to see happen then I'm fine with whatever. I vote for a happy ending personally.

Smiling_Jack

I'd probably prefer A

I vote for A

A sounds good but more work is required.

A for the LORE God. It hungers for more LORE!

Anonymous

A please!

Corpse Puppeteer

Gotta go with Fenoxo, I'd go for A if it's easier (or whichever you find easier, they both sound amazing IMO)

Evevos

A :)

both are great ideas. I'd be happy with either but I agree with M-radish that whichever is easier would be fine.

Anonymous

A, on flash is great

J.G.

A, like the idea. :)

I'll go for A.

Sebastian delaBarra

I honestly want the B I play a few visual novels and they been alright, but they kinda common place. However interactive comics are very rare. I can't even think of a example right the top of my head! I think it be fun to see ya make a touchy pokey comic that you mess with stuff and things. :P

Anonymous

A. I'm more a fan of VNs. For me at least they just seem to flow better.

Anonymous

I'm fine with either to be honest

Anonymous

Will either feature a turn base battle system or something like that, or is it just a interactive story?

Anonymous

That sounds like an enormous project. Hope you take on some help to ease the burden.

Toumak

A for sure!

SergentmaC

45-A & 38-B, i take A

Xpray

Maybe it'll include a minigame or something, but there are no plans for battle systems at least atm. It's an interactive story/comic game to let the user choose their own ending for the Last Survivor series, based on their decisions through the game.

Ebondragon

I'd prefer A, but either would be fine. :)

Anonymous

I prefer B but A would be great as well

Anonymous

B! I love VNs, but I'd love to see how you'd handle an interactive comic ^^

Anonymous

I know you said those pictures are for testing purposes, but I noticed the secondary one with interactive story involved from the third episode. Can we influence the third episode to our liking? Like Bullard helping Vodka milk the alpha.

Xpray

The visual novel/interactive comic will be a new episode, which begins exactly where Episode 3 ends. Said so, we can't alter/influence the events that already took place in the third episode; instead we'll be able to choose different paths for different ways to progress/end the story, in this project.

I'm going with A.
