Hi! This current project is probably the biggest workload i've had to date for a video, so I'm dropping another update to keep everyone in the loop.

[Next Video]

The script is essentially finished, clocking in at 15-20 minutes long. It's about Junji Ito's work, though i'll withhold what specifically. I will also say, for this video i've written a sort of B-plot that plays out around the edges of the video itself-  I'm making sure that it doesn't interfere with the flow of the video itself, or feel forced/detached from the rest of it. Basically, much more animation than usual.

[Workload]

Because of the "b-plot", this is the first video where i've decided to rough a full storyboard first before going to animation/editing. i'm just under halfway finished with the board, after which I'll move into animating/asset preparation. I have a lot of little things that add up to do, mainly sculpting out several outdoor environments and re-shading characters to match a more hand-drawn style. I'm also thinking of using more 2D animation in this video, both for stylistic and efficiency purposes.

Basically, my workload is reaching that of a small production company and i'm still working mostly solo on this. It is very daunting, but i'm also learning a lot very fast doing it.

I am not sure when it'll be done. I want it done in say, a month. But it's much more work than i've had to do before, and i'm regretting not starting earlier on animator/artist recruitment- In some ways I feel I need to do a lot of this on my own first, that way I know how to communicate with anyone i'll need to take over certain roles in the future. However that mindset might end up making this take until January to finish, and I don't want to go that long without uploading.

As it stands, I'm considering smaller (funke study level) videos that I can make fast enough to finish by the end of November so that I can fully dedicate December to working on this. If I feel I can have this out before the end of the year, that may change.

TLDR: big video on the way. kind of artsy. dangerously close to a point where hiring others is downright essential to pull off what I want, but i'm letting the clock hit midnight on that first.
