August | FUNKe Update (Patreon)

[Update] Ciao amici. it's been about two weeks since my last video so here's an update: the next video is running on longer than I thought/wanted. I'm behind on editing and on top of that i've been spending the last week working on music again. I'm pretty happy with my music progress but it's at the cost of losing some video making time (as I got a bit tunnel visioned). I want to have at least two videos done this month, and that's still the goal, but I probably won't be able to maintain a weekly schedule on it like I did last month. I don't consider music stuff work, so I'm trying to not let it over-occupy my time, but it can be easy for me to get sucked into my hobbies at the cost of efficiency elsewhere. 

[Videos] My last upload was a starting revival of "FUNKe Study". There will be future ones equally quick-fire and bundled (state of x videos) but I also wouldn't mind doing more long-form reviews of singular things. I have more Bombi animated "FUNKtv"-esque videos on the docket, but those will be in between more producible videos and not made with a schedule in mind. I am still hedging my options on non-gaming videos, admittedly I'm still very nervous about trying things that don't appeal to my cumulative subscribers but in my heart i'd rather try some weird stuff (local tales, album studies, music) than avoid it and have regrets years down the line.

[Music] For those curious, my music practice/making recently hasn't been related to the political rap stuff talked about in an earlier update. I'm coming off a recent hunt for jazzy/psychadelic indie bands (to fill the Feed Me Jack shaped hole in my heart) and it's made me want to learn about writing in that style. I'm not in a band (at the moment) so it's a lot to chew on, but i'm having fun and really want to have a better grip on math rocky riffs so i'm not stuck with power chords and midi melodies in the future. As always this comes secondary to my content but the more experience I get the more I feel like I could make something that resonates with the people who are used to hearing me talk about my favorite bands all the time on stream. Nothing being made with a deadline right now, but the chances of seeing music from me in the tail end of this year is incredibly favorable.
