WIP #38: Paizuri Fun (Patreon)

Hey there everyone! Between hot bolt summer and the angel picnic, I've been working on a smaller project featuring several poll animations from a while back! Starting with pinkie's option from the friction poll, and the winners of the paizuri poll, this project is a bit experimental. The idea is to tie all of these gifs together into a scenario using all animation, but limiting the complexity of each shot so that it doesn't take me months. So far, like most experiments, I'd call it a "mixed success". Here's the first part of the animatic:

These are the shots concerning the "main group" - in parallel, there's also a story featuring applebloom unfolding! Here's the second part of the animatic, covering that:

as you can see, I'm going for a slower, more visual wordless style of storytelling. This of course limits the complexity of the story that can be told, but it also eliminates the need for writing, voice acting and lip-sync, and minimizes complex performance shots.

Of course, there is still considerable work involved in doing a project this way. Ideally I would have liked to have it done earlier this month, but the minimum size required to establish all the (relatively simple) story elements has meat it will be complete probably in mid-january at the earliest.

So with that in mind, check out the most up to date animatic with all the latest renders! You can see exactly where the project is at, with the different sements at different levels of completeness, from totally finished to barely started, and everything in between.
