Luke's run into dryad girls again. It must take him days to cross these damn forests if this keeps up! Are the dryad girls and the water nymphs working in shifts or something? I'm sure he doesn't complain too much though. :)

Keep an eye out for a private message from me in about a week, on May 7, where I'll give you the download links for the reward pack.

It's been a strange month! The first half of the month was the most productive I've had in years, and the second half was the least productive. The ups and downs fortunately cancelled each other out and have resulted in another finished illustration right on time. I'm pretty happy with this one! I feel like I hit a pretty good spot for the color palette, with satisfying saturated colors. I hope you like them as much as I do!

Part of the reason the first half of the month felt so productive is because the process for this illustration has been particularly pain free and fun. More so than pretty much any illustration I've made. I feel like I'm breezing through things I used to struggle with in the past. Getting more skilled doesn't often feel this tangible, so it's fun when it does. Hopefully that also means the process will be extra useful for you guys to look at! It's the early stages in particular that I feel are more structured and straight forward than usual.

Thank you very much for supporting this stuff. I appreciate it a lot. :)

This Luke guy... is just the luckiest mofo on the planet, isn't he? 😹 In all seriousness, I've been really looking forward to this one, I don't know if you remember but for your previous painting, I joked that you were making the case for the colour blue to be one of my new favourites. You responded that you hoped to do the same with green for this one and my word, sir... you make a damn fine case! 😻💚 As always, your work is so bursting with colour and texture! I love the vibrant background, seeing those warm sandy slopes surrounded by cool blue-green water, with all of it having this lovely soft haze over it, letting us see all of it's beautiful detail but without distracting from the foreground. I love how you paint trees with their twisting bark and roots, where the shapes all look like they interlock and overlap with dark shadows and bright lights making it all pop. The textures of the leaves and water are just gorgeous too and I especially like that tree to the left of Luke. The colours there are lovely with this mix of greens and browns, with subtle highlighting from the purple-pink flowers in places. Speaking of which, I for one highly appreciate seeing my true favourite colour getting some attention in this painting 😉💜 With these flowers, I do really like the pink highlight shining from within the darker petals for a lovely contrast, with the pink particles floating behind Luke popping very nice against the darker tones there. Looking then at Luke, I really like the lighting in this scene and how it affects all of the characters, it's like it's shining most directly into the centre of all of them, leaving the back of Luke as well as the tops of the furthest lady in shadow. Suffice to say, the contrasts in lighting are just beautiful, I especially like Luke's shirt with his back shrouded in shadow that then smoothly blends into the white light across his torso. I particularly like his left arm with the folds cutting across the material with some subtle pinkish hue mixed into the grey. The overall texture of the shirt looks terrific and my favourite part of his clothing has to be the brown straps. They have a great mix of colours and lighting, with the texture being very well detailed with the little scratches being an excellent touch. I love the strap on his right, with some thin light on the corner of the leather, separating the top and side planes. The green that tints the straps on his back is a lovely touch too and the metallics on the straps are equally well done. Honestly, I could talk about just his clothes for ages but I'd better press on! 😅 You did an excellent job on his anatomy and my favourite part is actually his hip/upper thigh. The contrast between light and shadow looks so good and I love the separation between his oblique and thigh and how all these details and plane changes have been rendered. There's tonnes more about him that like too in regards to his abs, head, face and hair but I'd best move onto the 3 marvellous ladies 😉💚 I'll start with the girl giving Luke his "massage" and say that as always, you do an amazing job with these kinds of expressions, where the mouth is wide open with the lips wrapping around you-know-what. The reddish tint to her nose, cheeks and eyelids make her look extra vibrant, as do her pink lips and hair. The level of detail on her is incredible of course, with the definition of her hair, overlapping strands of hair, her inner ear and the anatomy of her body, like the interplay between her pec, deltoid and upper arm. I also love her hand and the intimacy that comes with how she spreads her fingers across Luke's thigh. The left girl is so very sexy and gorgeous with that seductive expression and the intense gaze of her vibrant eyes. I really like the colours of her hair and flowers too, much more purple and with a mix of warm and cool tones blended in. The definition of her face is so well done with her nose, cheeks and chin looking especially great. There's also a nice mix of warm and cool tones mixed into the skin of her face and body too that I love and I really like how you painted her collarbone, traps, neck and how they all interconnect. The girl on the right is my favourite and it's actually because of her hair! This specific type of purple, more on the blue side of the spectrum but still clearly purple is just so beautiful to me! The subtle mix of some warm pinks into it makes it vibrant too and I love the shadows and highlights that define the shapes of the hair too. Her body is beautifully rendered too, her breasts look so sensual with her warm-toned nipples really popping against the green, her stomach is just so sexy too and I really like where her bicep squeezes as she bends her arm. The details of her face are excellent, again with the way you paint open mouths being so good. Her face being mostly in shadow with some cool highlights on her forehead, cheek and nose contrast beautifully and I do love the subtle mix of purple into her cheek, I also really like how you define her cheek, hollowing inwards as she opens her mouth which is a great, realistic detail. Her purple lips and tongue also pop beautifully against the green and I love the shine on them, as well as the way the tongue curls inwards as it interacts with her fingers. I shudder to think how long this comment is once I hit Enter but gosh darn it... this painting required many, many words to truly appreciate the insane amount of colour, details and beauty that you've packed into it! As always, your art is vibrant, so full of life and fun and it is a pleasure to get to see it (especially the right-hand girl's purple hair, dear sweet merciful Talos... I'm in love with it! 💜💜💜💜💜) Again, absolutely exquisite work! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

He just can't catch a break...from all these girls hopping on his dick. Hard life, pun intended, but he's a tough guy it seems, he can take it or well, he can take them, multiple of them, almost incessantly.

Iberios

can i join the tier where you have a pointed ear variant of everything?? :D

Matty Thunders

Epic as always. You just continue to astound me.

I can tell you had a ton of fun with this one, Calm. The posing and mark-making is loose and relaxed, as is the composition. The purple and green color choice is a really nice one! Eye candy all-around.

Bravo, take a bow Calm because this is a triumph.

calm

Hey, welcome! I'm glad you're enjoying it! :)

calm

Thank you, Ciarán, I'm glad you like the green girls, and the colors in general! It was a fun illustration to work on. I feel like the colors came together pretty easily, and that I've sort of got more control over my colors now than I've had in the past, so hopefully that'll carry over into the next illustrations too! And you're right, purple is a very fun color. I like it especially well when it's carefully placed to enhance a focal point. 😄 Thanks for taking the time to share all your thoughts on my work, I'm always flattered!

calm

Yeah, let's hope he'll be fine. Few people have as much practice dealing with this as he does. 😄

calm

Haha, I think I prefer when some characters have them and some don't, but I can't blame you for asking. 😉

calm

You're right, Alatar, I did have a lot of fun! Learning when to keep things loose is something I'm still very much in the process of figuring out, but I'm getting there I think. I'm glad you like how it turned out!

I love the subtle flow and details of Luke's lower waist. I know it's a random detail, but the lines are very perfect without looking unrealistic.
