Hey! Here's the illustration I did this month. It had some challenges, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I hope you are too!

Those of you who are signed up for rewards as of me posting this post will receive a private message on August 7 with the download links for the reward pack.

It's weird how some art styles feel like they lend themselves better to some themes than others. I always find it a bit more challenging to illustrate modern themes with my art style than, say, fantasy themes, especially in terms of architecture. So it took longer than I would have liked to arrive at result I was happy with, haha.

Another challenge I ran into was that the most recent Photoshop update broke something, and I had to roll back, and doing that deleted all my brushes and presets and everything, which I wasn't prepared for, haha. So you'll see me lean even more heavily on Paintstorm Studio throughout the process of this illustration. I wonder if I'll soon be comfortable omitting Photoshop from my workflow entirely.

Thank you for supporting me this month, everyone, I appreciate it a lot! :)

Gorgeous work as per usual! ♡ I know what you mean about art styles lending to themes, its really cool that you can pull off both though! I generally prefer the fantasy style pieces myself but its so impressive that your work looks equally stunning in either settings. Amazing ❤❤❤

I lost my ancient copy of photoshop with a computer crash. I tried out Krita and was impressed enough to keep it and ditch photoshop. I'm certainly not at your level though

Getting into that more modern shape language is definitely a challenge. My natural inclination is also toward organic or fantasy shapes. Took me a LONG time to even start to enjoy drawing/painting modern/scifi shapes. I think you're crushing it though. Even if it was a struggle, the painting doesn't reflect that, so I'd say you succeeded ;)

Is there gonna be a DP version of this, by any chance? :0

Thank you, Abby! I generally prefer fantasy pieces too, but variety is nice, so I'm glad I get to do these too once in a while, even if they're a bit more difficult for me. I'm glad you like how it turned out!

Ah man, just read the full description. That must have been maddening to lose all your brushes and presets. Total time synch! I would have been so discouraged!! 😭

Ooof, sucks to hear about the software troubles you were having, but let me tell you, the final result looks just as delightful as ever! The details and colours are absolutely gorgeous 😍😍😍😍😍 Speaking of art styles, the background in this piece is very different to your fantasy works, the clouds, trees and exterior buildings have a cel-shaded look to them with sharp shadows and you know what? I think it looks great! That "cleaner" aesthetic fits a modern setting very well and it provides a nice contrast to the smoother, more textured rendering of the character 😊 Suffice to say, both styles of painting look lovely! 😸 As for the painting itself, like I said, the colours are wonderfully bold and vibrant and I like the contrast between the vivid blues and greens outside versus the more muted tones of the brown steps and grey tiled floor. The floor itself does look excellent though with other colours reflecting on it's surface. The characrwr herself pops beautifully with her warm skin tones set against the cooler background, with the green and white tones of her clothing also popping against her. Likewise, her toy and how it's swallowed up also contrasts really well with the translucent green/blue sinking between the warm skin tones. And I of course just adore her purple hair which is especially gorgeous with the cooler, blue-purple seamlessly transitioning into a warmer purple towards the bottom of the ponytail. The characters pose and her framing are terrific and so very sensual too with the strong arch to her back and foreshortening, with her nipples teased as her breasts fall forward out of view, but with the centre of her spreading thighs and butt given great prominence in the foreground 😉 And I do really like the lighting with her head and upper back kept in cooler shadows as warmer light bathes the top planes of her lower back and butt, giving us a lovely warm/cool contrast across her. The hint of light on her face and breasts does highlight them very nicely and really pops against the shadows, especially so with her face. And unsurprisingly, the rendering and textures here are just glorious! I adore the creases and folds in her t-shirt as it crumples up above her breasts and back. Her hair is beautifully detailed with strands twisting, curling and overlapping, the hints of wet stains in her socks/stockings is a great detail and holy crap, the translucent, juicy texture of her two big toys looks amazing! The way you managed to capture the shapes of them while adding these effects is brilliant and on top of all that, they also have all this thick juicy gunk all over them too, very impressive work! The purple anal beads look great too and I do really like the purple light wrapping around the top planes of each sphere. But back to the lovely lady though! Her breast looks wonderful with the sharp light highlighting the shadows and the line of light running through her upper arm as well as the textured rendering of her elbow with hints of red mixed in looks great. I also love the rippling light and shadow that defines her bending back, while the cool tones mixed into her other arm and face/neck are lovely. Speaking of lovely, her butt and thighs are utterly wonderful with the warm light bathing the top planes as shadows wrap underneath, perfectly defining and accentuating those round, sensual shapes. The reddish tint and textures to her "naughty bits" is an excellent detail too 😉 (Oh and I love how her stockings squeeze her thigh 😍) Absolutely amazing work on this painting! The pose is so very sexy, the colours are bold and vibrant with beautiful lighting effects, while the contrast between more textured rendering for the character and starker, cleaner background is quite striking! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Krita is pretty great, and probably a great Photoshop replacement from what I can tell! The reason I still use Photoshop is really mostly because it's my comfort zone. The software where I know where everything is. Losing that comfort zone is probably a good thing when it pushes us to learn more about other programs. :)

Great Illustration - well done - I have had several system errors as I upgrade software recently as well. Adobe needs to get their crap together. They will be loosing clients.

Hey thanks, I'm glad you think so! I definitely prefer working with more painterly strokes, and I still haven't quite figured out how to describe clean modern surfaces with those, but I'll get there some day! :)

It would require a bit more work than I'm comfortable putting into a separate version unfortunately. Sorry about that.

The brushes I use are fairly simple, and I already do a lot of painting in Paintstorm instead of Photoshop, so it's fortunately not the worst thing that could happen. :) And to be honest, I've kinda been wanting to try moving a bit away from Photoshop, so it's a good opportunity to try that. I did lose some cool scripts and actions I had created though, which is a bummer.

Thank you, Ciarán! I'm glad you're enjoying the result! You're right that the background has sort of a different style to it. I tried painting it in a style more similar to what I usually do, but I had a lot of trouble, haha. So I tried out a different style there. It gave me some ideas for new approaches in future pictures that I'd like to try, so I'm pretty happy about that!

Thank you! And yeah, they're certainly not my favorite company, haha.

This looks amazing. Also, thanks for the half price discount code for Gumroad on your last upload. Artworks 3, 5 and 26 are my all-time favourites and I finally got to put them in my collection.

I'm glad you like it, Ethan! And no problem, thank you for picking those up. :)

This is so freaking amazing, probably between my top favorites of yours, really pretty close to illustration 67, which is my favorite haha. Awesome work!

Thank you so much for your hard work, I love your painting workflow so much!

I'm glad you're enjoying the workflow, Luisa. 😄

Love how you draw semitransparent materials

Not a fan of this one, it looks too cartoony for me. It’s mainly that technicolour background outside the window.

Brickachu

Good. I'd like to see those nipples and bare feet ;)

Hi Calm, I just read about your problems, sorry to hear that - I understand how devastating it can be to lose your own presets

JC

Love this one, especially the one with cum. When there's no guy in the picture, I just kind of make up my own story in my head. I imagine she's made herself available for guys to just bust a nut on which I find amazingly hot.
