Probably nobody else would understand this one or want it but here goes... I turn up at a mental health crisis centre. I’m really distressed. I’ve got a diaper on and a paci in my pocket and I’m gripping tightly to my stuffy. The female psychiatrist takes me to a room to do a full assessment. I can barely speak. She can tell I’m very regressed but doesn’t know yet about the diaper. She asks a series of questions which quickly evolve into her knowing I was abused as a kid and she comes over to me and hugs me tightly. She feels my diaper and tells me it’s ok she understands. She asks if I need a change. She tells me she thinks I need to come into hospital because they have a special ward that is exactly for this. I am surprised and she tells me it’s far more common than you think. She asks me if I have a mummy and when I say no she tells me I’m struggling because I need attention and to be babied. She is extremely comforting and leads me to the ward where she takes me straight to the change room as I have a stinky diaper. I know you might think this is stepping into triggering territory but every audio you do that features sexual content is triggering too for those of us who have been abused and I think we are all grown up enough to choose what audios we listen to. It would be very therapeutic for some of us to be nurtured and told what we should’ve been told back then. And a pretty high percentage of abdls were abused as kids, I would say a higher percentage than those who want sexual mummy audios. All I got from my real mum was ‘you probably asked for it’. I would love nothing more than to cry into the arms of a nurturing mother type figure whilst having my hair stroked and told it’s not my fault and taken complete care of.
