For this discussion, we're covering everything in the game from the end of  the quest called "Old Friends" to the end of the quest "Forging Destines". We realize this is a big section, so feel free to just submit a comment based on what you were able to get through. You don't need to have finished this section to submit a comment. Also, please don't spoil anything after that point in the comments!

Submit one comment below and please get specific. Don't write a long review, please keep your one comment to around the length of a tweet.

We want to get to as many comments as possible. Let's get specific, submit a comment about your favorite character, realm, side-quest, line, story, move, etc. The more specific you are, the higher the odds of us reading your comment during the discussion. We'll finish collecting comments on Monday morning.

We're recording The Deepest Dive on God of War Ragnarok on Monday at 7pm Central with Kyle Bosman, Jill Grodt, Suriel Vazquez, and Ben Hanson. You can watch us record it live on MinnMax's Twitch channel.

Hello Everyone! I really loved the character interactions when you have Freya, Mimir, and Kratos while doing side quests. Mimir keeps making puns that Freya and Kratos are annoyed by. Kratos at one point says, "you're not funny," as Mimir made a pun after completing a side mission. I burst into laughter. Also if you haven't interacted with the light elf and dark elf couple in Freyr's camp after helping Freya I highly recommend it! Wait for Freya to talk with them as well.

Really liking the changing partner dynamic that has been going on. Was hoping Freya would join your team. Was fully expecting a Tyr moment where she is there for the journey. Was worried that she wasnt going to be a partner as during Nidhogg she wasnt taking orders. Glad she was full fledge partner with skills and all.

I know a lot of people are talking about how quick the freya and Kratos relationship change goes from enemies to Allies. But I went ahead and did the side quests with Freya right after getting her as a companion and the conversation and quests really helped explain her change of heart and made it feel much more organic.

Did anyone else happen to notice that if you complete the Secret of the Sands mission without Atreus that Freya and Mimir comment on his absence, which is followed by Kratos saying it is a consequence of his disobedience. Atreus is also brought up at the conclusion of the mission once the jellyfish creature is freed from the earth. I just found it interesting that Sony Santa Monica built-in different sets of dialogue pre-and post mission to account for the fact that certain side content would be done with one character versus another.

My favorite part of this chunk is definitely the Freya/Kratos partnership. I love their conversations. They have a much different feeling than Atreus/Kratos conversations. Kratos seems to think of Freya as more of an equal and he brings up deeper topics like his brother and daughter. I did not expect Deimos to be brought up and it was a nice surprise. I was also kind of waiting for the shoe to drop where Kratos talked about how her ashes are on his body.

Is it just me or are there maybe too many mechanics in this game vs 2018? For me it is slightly taking away from the fluidness and pace of the game...

Love that we're getting to know and interact with other characters and that kratos and Atreus are split up, but.... These really linear sections are long!

I thought the Norns were really well portrayed. I thought they convincingly came off condescending to Kratos but not to the audience. And I'm a big fan of the idea that instead of being able to truly see the future they instead have supernatural perception of the individuals and thus can very easily predict major plot points by relying on the characters themselves to act the way they know they will. It makes fate both "real" but also technically within your control. Really cool scene

Did anybody else spot the little mushroom-headed folks in vanaheim that make the shrill toad noise from Mario?

Odin’s Santa hat kind of makes sense mythologically - aren’t they supposed to be the same person or some such? It’s true

Did anyone else use the nidhogg proton pack to capture the children? Does this Rattatoskr the Norse Professor E. Gadd?

Trying to clear out the wretch nests as Atreus was really disorienting and just annoying lol. Stop giving us busy work for the sake of ambient storytelling and just give me a cutscene already
